Welcome to the historic George Blucher House Bed & Breakfast Inn, recognized in Frommer's 1st and 2nd Edition Texas Travel Guides as one of the "Best of Texas" Bed and Breakfasts and Small Hotels....and given its top rating of 3 stars! A 1904 Victorian, the Inn is conveniently located just a few blocks from upscale restaurants, trendy clubs and a sparkling bay front and marina. Just across the street is Blucher park, an internationally renowned bird sanctuary. Legal eagles will appreciate the two-block stroll to the Nueces County Courthouse.
The George Blucher House is elegantly appointed with antique French, English and American country furnishings, fine Oriental carpets, original artwork, fine china, silver and crystal. Six professionally decorated bedrooms offer private baths with guest robes and assorted toiletries, luxury linens, televisions and VCRs, two dedicated telephone lines and more.

    Cross Harbor Bridge and take the second exit (Tancahua/Staples). Turn left on Tancahua and go 5 blocks. Turn right on Comanche at the Corpus Christi Public Library. Turn left on Carrizo and right on Blucher.

    ARTHUR'S SUITE..... Reminiscent of country homes in Provence, cranberry walls and country French fabrics complementing antique French pine furniture set the tone in this largest upstairs bedroom. A private sitting room, balcony overlooking Blucher Park, a king sized four poster bed and a bath with a whirlpool tub/shower make this Suite our most popular romantic hideaway for honeymoons, anniversaries or any other special occasion!PEARL'S ROOM..... Pretty in pink but lots of guys have stayed in this room and we haven't heard any complaints yet! This light and airy upstairs bedroom is furnished with American and French antiques and offers a queen sized bed and a roomy bath with tub/shower. A private balcony overlooking downtown make this room a perfect choice for watching seasonal fireworks over the bay!
    JASPER'S ROOM..... Fit for a King and Queen and cloaked in regal purple, this very large downstairs bedroom is wheelchair accessible. Furnished with American and French antiques, a king sized bed, a large bath with a tub/shower, this room is perfect for guests not wishing to climb the Inn's lovely stairway.ANNIE'S ROOM..... The Innkeeper's personal favorite, this large upstairs bedroom is cheerful and light hearted. Mint green walls and yellow painted country furniture complement the queen sized bed centered in the windowed bay. The bath boasts a deep marble tub/shower. The shared upstairs back balcony is the perfect spot for relaxing or bird watching!
    NELLIE'S ROOM..... A virtual flower garden, this twin bedded periwinkle room is the perfect choice for traveling companions who do not wish to share a bed. Comfortably furnished with American and French country furniture, a bath with tub/shower, and windows overlooking the fountained koi pond, fall into peaceful slumber at the sound of cascading water!JULIUS' ROOM..... Another country French dream, this cozy upstairs bedroom is painted a warm yellow and features an antique spooled four poster, queen sized bed. The intimately scaled space is accented in cobalt blue and has a modest bath with shower only. Take an afternoon siesta in the hammock on the shared upstairs back balcony just across the hall!
    THE FRONT BALCONY..... Enjoy your cup of freshly brewed morning coffee, linger over the pages of a classic novel or best seller from the Inn's extensive library, treat yourself to a leisurely nap or savour a glass of wine as you relax on one of the Inn's four porches and balconies. Comfortable Adirondack chairs and a hammock roomy enough for two beckon relaxation. Enjoy world class birding from tree-top level or close your eyes to the sounds of cascading water from the fountained courtyard!THE DINING ROOM..... Breakfast at the George Blucher House is quite an affair. Guests are served family style in the Inn's exquisite Dining Room and have often compared it to an elegant dinner party. Served by candlelight on fine china, along with sterling silver flatware, crystal stemware and exquisite linens, the Inn's breakfasts are multi-course gourmet treats. Enjoy!
    THE BATH IN ARTHUR'S SUITE..... County French toile frames the deep marble whirlpool tub for two in Arthur's Bath. An Indonesian garden window serves as a mirror over the basin set in an antique chest. The owner's great-aunt's beloved stained glass window is set in the wall. All baths are tiled and complete with downy linens, cozy robes, hair dryers and assorted toiletries.
