Conveniently located near both Round Top and Brenham. The Knittel features two beautifully restored homes, the 1870 Knittel House, a two story Texas Victorian constructed to resemble a Mississippi Riverboat and the Washington House, a handsomely restored 1914 farmhouse. Both houses provide the charm of the country homes of yesteryear and modern comfortable amenities for today’s traveling guest.

Carmen and Steve made us feel very welcome. The rooms were all comfortably appointed and were charming as well. We loved the comfy chairs on the porch and enjoyed a common area to visit with other guests. Our breakfast was delicious and beautifully prepared. It is a wonderful location from which to visit Roundtop and Texas A & M.

We could not have had a better host in Steve and Carmen. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast Saturday and Sunday were outstanding. The whole weekend was a huge success and they were everything you could hope for in a host. My sister and I had a very relaxing weekend that included a wedding at Round Top and they provided us with very interesting places to visit, which we greatly appreciated. Dawn Price and Denise Pike.

In the midst of a small farming community, but so close to a mulititude of activities in the texas Hill Country is the Knittel. Not only were the accomodations and hosptiality exceptional, but there is an added bonus of two beautifully restored residences on the property and the owners to tell the stories. Go and rest peacfully in the evenings then take off in almost any direction for a day of fun! The wildflowers were an exceptional bonus never to be missed.

The Knittel Homestead Inn is a very nice and quaint B&B. The decor is perfect, everything is immaculate inside and out. Breakfast is always delicious. Very nice place to stay.

We have been going to the Knittel for about 5 years - usually twice a year and have always found it to be superior! Carmen and Steve are wonderful hosta and the breakfast is absolutely to die for. We will continue to go there on a regular basis!
