    Great but...

    October 13, 2012

Loved room 13, much prettier and spacious than it looks on the website, but the room was FREEZING!! We could almost see our breath and had to sleep in our robes. Closing the vent didn't help much and it made a whistling noise. There is not room temp adjustment and the blankets were thn. Also, it was extremely loud all night. We heard Construction and garbage trucks all night and didn't get much sleep because of this. Wait a few months or a yr before you stay here if you want to sleep. Loved the breakfast and porches. Checkout was a little awkward, wasn't sure where to go. The bathroom was lovely.

Great stay at Star of Texas Inn

    August 24, 2010

We found this B&B for a last minute trip to Austin. What a wonderful stroke of luck! The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The location was convenient to everything. Absolutely no problems with parking. And to top it all off the food was excellent. The next time we go to Austin we will definitely stay at the Star of Texas Inn.

    Wonderful, peaceful little inn

    January 20, 2010

Our room was lovely. The cookies were amazing and the inn is in a great location. However, the manager does not stay on property, so if you need advice it would be hard to get.

Star of Texas Inn ranks high on our list

    October 20, 2009

We have stayed at the Star of Texas Inn a couple of times now and will definitely plan to return. We have so many good things to say about this bed and breakfast it's hard to know where to begin. The quaint gate and path that lead to the side door entrance has the reminecent feel of grandma's house. Then, upon entering we walk into the aroma of fresh baked cookies. There are always cookies waiting for you at the door. With just the right timing the staff is always there to help with what you need and with Austin hospitality. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and neat. We feel at home when we are there. Breakfast in the morning has been delicious. We like the location as it has been central to our activities. We also enjoy sitting on the balcony or porch and watch people go by. Chris and Sylvia do a fine job of running the Star of Texas Inn. We hope to see you there again soon.

    Very, very welcoming and friendly

    February 06, 2008

Chris, Sylvia and all the staff were most helpful and friendly. The location is close to the University, so there's lot of hussle and bussle along the street, but was quiet at night. Very nice porches to sit out and watch the world pass by.

    Very Comfortable.

    November 16, 2007

My favorite things about the stay: the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, a HUGE private deck, and antique bathtub perfect for a long hot soak. It is convenient to everything downtown. I almost wish I had nothing else to do during my stay in Austin and could have just relaxed in my room a little bit more. I've seen other reviews where noise was an issue, but I am used to sleeping with a fan in the background (they provide them as well) and even though there was construction outside during my stay, I was able to get a restful night's sleep.

    not worth the money

    August 27, 2007

my room was clean, bathroom was okay, noisy location, close to UT, would not stay here again. Not worth the money at all. For the money you can stay at a much nicer place.
