One of the first Austin Victorian homes built in the late 1880's; it has been updated for today's lifestyle with wireless internet, cable TV, private phones and air conditioning while maintaining the character and feel of a charming Victorian residence.

    A great place to stay in Austin.

    Brava House is convenient and comfortable. Robin is an excellent and helpful host; I highly recommend this bed and breakfast - a comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast. To be in a quiet residential neighborhood, this place is amazingly close to everything: downtown, minutes from the airport, within an easy walk to many great restaurants. Staying here certainly enhanced our enjoyment of this delightful city.

    Pictures do not do this house justice! In fact, the photos don't even begin to convey how charming, well thought out, and pretty the property is. Mary and Robin, the owners of the B&B, have put forth great effort to make sure that guests have everything they need to be comfortable--extra pillows and blankets, books, magazines, lamps in all the right spots, good climate control, a mini bar with drinks and snacks, etc. And somehow, though all five rooms were occupied during our visit, we never heard any of the other guests. The property is immaculate, and breakfasts are delicious. I cannot wait to return!

    Relaxing Stay at Downtown B&B

    Had a wonderful two night stay at the Brava House. Found the accommodations just right for traveling for the first time with two shizto puppies. Very friendly, easy going and enjoyed a delicious breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Other guests were friendly and Robin and Mary were the perfect hosts. My husband and I would not think twice about returning. Thank you!!

    Convenient location, close to 6th street and downtown. Beautifully decorated rooms, elegant and uncluttered. Great patio and yard for relaxing.

    Garbo Suite

    The rooms are filled with antiques and natural light from the floor to ceiling Victorian windows. The Parlor has many uses, from hosting small business meetings to relaxing by the fireplace, reading or watching TV. There is a kitchenette, with refrigerator, coffee pot and sink. The etched wooden door that seperates the parlor and the bedroom, brings you to an evening of comfort with stately windows, an antique bedroom set that includes a vanity, and a comfortable bed with a new mattress! Take a bath in the claw footed bathtub before turning in. The bathroom has a hairdryer and a shower in the tub.

    Fitzgerald Suite

    This room is the original parlor room of Brava House. A working fireplace with the original period Italian marble offers a unique relaxed comfort to your visit to Austin. The original floor to ceiling windows flood this room with natural light. This spacious suite has a marvelous antique furniture set. The Parlor offers a comfortable place to meet clients or relax with a book by the fireplace. The kitchenette includes a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and sink. The bedroom promises a good nights rest after a long day. Unwind on a comfortable new mattress before switching off the antique lamp that offers soft light for your nightime reading. The double headed shower adds a unique feature to the bathroom and black and white tile floors add a clean fresh feel. Hairdryer included.

    Van Gogh Room

    This private room is completely handicapped accessible. With a ramp that leads to its own private entrance from the back of the home, it is easy access to this room from convenient parking spots. The wonderful bay window floods the room with light. This room has a TV, refrigerator, coffee pot and a wonderful antique armoire. Completely accessible, the bathroom features a shower that can accommodate a wheelchair. All the fixtures, including the hairdryer, are easily within reach.

    Casablanca Room

    This second floor suite is a warm and bright retreat. The high pitched ceilings and ample arched windows give this spacious room an open feeling. The room has a marvelous four post bed and convenient spots for relaxing to read by the large windows, working on expense reports, or watching television. The TV, refrigerator and coffee pot are offered for your convenience. The white and black tiled bathroom has all the amenities needed in a modern bathroom, including hairdryer.

    Monroe Apartment Suite

    Named after Marilyn, the Monroe is a full sized corporate apartment with living room, dining area, separate bedroom and bathroom. Hardwood floors, beautiful molding and wonderful tall windows with bay seats beneath add to the beauty of this room. A pull-out leather sofa makes into a queen size bed. There is a full kitchen including full-size refrigerator, gas stove and oven, dishwasher and cookware/housewares. Other features include a woodburning fireplace, microwave, TV with cable, DSL internet connection and private phone line. The bedroom features a queen size wrought iron bed and is very roomy. The black and white tiled bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination. The Monroe Corporate Suite has a 2 night minimum and can be rented by the day, week or month.
