From Michele's reactions/comments, the watsu therapy was exactly as advertised. Michele said it was very relaxing, and a completely new experience. The reflexologists were superb, I nearly fell asleep several times during both treatments. The setting was a perfect fit also. I would recommend the East Wing to anyone who is interested in the therapy treatments we received. The private entrance to the pool was an enormous hit with Michele, as she is a bit shy. The watsu therapist took just the right angle with Michele, starting off slow, and explaining every step. Just an overall great escape. Thanks again for a marvelous weekend, highlighted by your quaint accommodations.

The location was what I needed and the neighborhood was lovely. The room was spacious and clean but there were no working smoke alarms in sight. Many water spots were on the ceiling. The massage chair did not work. The continental breakfast was disappointing. The B&B spa looked like it had seen better days.

I so much enjoyed my time at Bed and Breakfast Spa. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, and i had complete privacy. I enjoyed the amazing massage chair (who would think it would be so great) and the pool spa as well. The breakfast was customized for me and included lots of fresh and health items. It is in a great section of Austin - easy to get every where - yet quiet with lots of trees. I would recommend it without hesitation and plan on return visits!

Romance comes naturally in a room with such character and charm. The service was perfect, the fruit delicious and our stay was magical in the East Wing.

Each time we have stayed at the Bed & Breakfast Pool & Spa we have had a wonderful time. The Palace Room is very ROMANTIC and ELEGANT - a perfect bedroom hideaway. Check in is always hassle free - and the location is superb to the core of happenings in Austin. It is always great to take a sauna and a dip in the private pool. We always feel at home at this little gem of a B&B.

I was reluctant to spend the money on a weekend escape right here in town, now I can't wait to repeat the experience. I was greeted at the BNB by a very gracious Jule, who made me feel as if my every wish were within reach. The East Wing was spotless, spacious, comfortable and so private. The pool was luxiourous and invigarating. My breakfast items were very fresh. The location so ideal to everything.

The Palace Above is almost a treehouse, a wonderful fantasy with all the comfort and grace of home -- the way you always wanted it to be.

This place is a rip off. We stayed in middle April 2010. The backyard is full of weeds, rusting whatnots, and outdoor furniture with mildewed cushions. The breakfast is a couple boxes of cereal. The room has odd glass balls suspended from the ceiling and mismatched furniture. The owner pointed out the bathrobes available - some 70's stuff that looks like it hadn't been washed since then, yuck! The toiletries were half used bottles of shampoo and conditioner that we were instructed to place on the shower curtain while showering so water wouldn't get on the floor. Nice touch. I see now the market for Motel 6 and the like. Don't waste your money on this.

It is very important to us to make our all our guests feel as comfortable as possible. We take any critical comments very seriously and learn from each one. At the time of this reservation I was back and forth to the hospital for the birth of my grandchild. As a true family owned and operated business, major events, like the birth of a new child, can cause some disruption at work. That being said we are back up to full speed, keeping the yard manicured as it should be and we have inspected and upgraded the patio. Each room always comes with a fresh, well stocked kitchenette (coffee, teas, milk, o.j., cream, cereal, fresh fruit plate, yogurt, bagel/english muffins, cream cheese, etc.). We provide quality linens and furnishing, keeping with the vintage theme of our home. I am confident that the beauty of this home and the special amenities we offer, in the heart of central austin, speak for themselves. Our 1937 home was built to last and we hold true to it's core values and vintage appeal. You are not likely to find more spacious rooms this close to downtown. You are even less likely to find all the comforts of home that we strive to provide for you. We consider your "under our wing" when you stay with us. We are here to provide safe, luxurious accommodations and tailor made dinner and entertainment recommendations. The B&B spa in Austin, TX is a peaceful getaway conveniently located in Austin near downtown. Attention to detail with fresh fruit and snacks, books/CD's/DVD's, nice linens and even a massage chair were touches that made it memorable.

This was my first experience at a B & B and it was awesome. The spa was great, the room had incredible ambiance and the owner and staff were so friendly and helpful. I don't recall feeling so comfortable and relaxed in a hotel. This place has a chilled out vibe that totally engulfs you!

The room was lovely - cozy, spacious and romantic. The spa was amazing and rejuvenating. We'll be back soon!

The wood paneled room I stayed in made me feel like I was a queen in my forest kingdom! The sauna confirmed that. The hotel staff is very accommodating and helped me navigate the city.

We spent the weekend in the East Wing which was truly beautiful,comfortable, and relaxing. We had a lot planned to do outside our room in Austin but the beauty and luxuries (massage chair and table, therapy spa, etc.) held us in the room more often than not. The food was wonderful, the privacy could not be beat, and the location was truly fabulous.

My wife and I stayed in the East Wing here for our honeymoon. It was the PERFECT place to relax and decompress after the stress of planning and holding our wedding. I highly recommend visiting with Jule and Billie. Between the heated pool, the spa and all the massage offerings, it's a fabulous place to unwind and relax while being close to downtown Austin. I've already recommended bnbspa to friends.

I was fortunate to choose 2 nights at the Bed and Breakfast Spa as a gift for my cousin who had just lost her brother to cancer. It was recommended by a friend and I know I could not go wrong as the location is just blocks from some of my favorite restaurants, shopping, and swimming (minutes from Deep Eddy, Barton Springs, and Jeffry's to name a few). It was delighfully cool relaxing oasis for July in Austin. We breakfasted on the treetop screened porch serenaded by birds, and enjoyed evening dips in the large private pool/spa with the best jets imaginable. I easily arranged a massage at the B&B that was fabulous. I perfect place to renew, reconnect, and enjoy the best spots in Austin with no traffic. Jules, the owner/hostess is a part of the whole healing experience.

My wife and I stayed here for our first trip to Austin and I have to say I was a little disappointed. The picutres for B&B are much better than the actual rooms and the bed was uncomfortable. The owner was extreamly nice and gave us great advice for sites in Austin and places to eat. There was fresh fruit and pastries that were refreshing in the morning. We enjoyed the our viist to the capitol and a few restaurants that were great. My wife and I will definately visit Austin again but probably stay at another location.

Jule was very accommodating, but room is kind of shabby and bathroom is small and outdated. Porch is nice. Breakfast was meager, and coffeepot is tiniest thing you ever saw. Neighborhood is beautiful.

My husband and I spent our first anniversary at the bnb spa and we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in the east wing and it was almost magical. The huge fireplace gives the whole room a romantic feel, and all the candles make it all the better. The message chair and the foot messager in our room let us dissapear, it was so RELAXING!! The bed was so comfortable, I can actually say we slept like babies. The huge windows in the roof were a very nice touch it gave the room natural light and at night it was nice to lay in the bed and just look up at the sky. Billee was a great host, anything we asked, he answered and anything we needed he got. All together everything was wonderful and we look forward to coming back in the near future!

Staying at the Bed and Breakfast Spa overnight before my afternoon meeting in Austin was a very relaxing experience. The evening of my arrival, I used the indoor heated pool which was perfect and I was invited to use it again the next morning, but slept late instead. I relaxed in my cozy room the rest of the evening, enjoying a great selection of music and reading materials. Everything about the room was clean and comfortable, including the massage chair and big bathroom with a large shower and plentiful thick towels. I enjoyed reading about Jules adventures and visiting again with her the next morning. The generous breakfast prepared before my arrival was nice for me to have whenever I pleased. Included was a nice platter of fruits, pastries, milk, and juices that were fresh, tasty, and plentiful enough for me to also have a bedtime snack that night. Coffee, tea, and cereals were also provided to enjoy as I wished. I thought the private entrance and gardens were nice also. There was lighting in the backyard and parking area that kept the room a little to light at night, but not a big problem. Jules was a great hostess and I would love to visit again, especially to stay in her treehouse.

the Palace above was just the retreat that we were looking for and the level of individual attention we got is something you won't find at big chain hotels! The space is cozy and serene and the privacy can't be beat.

My boyfriend and I had shared such a relaxing and romantic weekend at the B&B Spa. We were first greeted by Jule, the innkeeper, who gave us a completely thorough guide to all the accomadations. She was extremely generous and made a point to make the B&B very personal. The room was very comfortable, the pool a treat, and the continental breakfast in the morning was perfect. She also recommended a delicious Japanese restaurant for dinner that night and gave us directions to where all the nightlife activities happened just 5-10 min away! I would highly recommend this to a couple who just wanted a charming getaway, but also wanted the excitement of a downtown not too far away.

The Palace room is just that! We were in town for the 2007 ACL Festival and found your B&B the most perfect,restful place to recover each night from our long days in the heat. Your hospitality was exceptional even driving us down to the Festival the first day. We found the privacy refreshing from other B&B experiences. My wife and I spent three very lovely nights at the Bed and Breakfast spa. We stayed in the East Wing. It was very private and quiet. The room was nice and coozy with a fire place. The pool was very relaxing and soothing. It was just what we needed. We also got to enjoy the sauna and all the amenities that are offered. The service was excellent and we would definetly return there again. We felt very rested while there. It was a very wonderful stay. Kunda and Michelle.

A weekend here was my birthday gift from my partner, and it was one of the most memorable, relaxing, indulgent weekends of my life!!! Everything was great! Very personal, very homey, i didn't feel like i was in a hotel (which was great), very private and I found the owner and her son to be very accommodating to whatever we needed. I will definitely return, and have recommended this place to my friends and co-workers as a place to go and relax and pamper yourself.

We absolutely loved the peacefullness and privacy this spa offered. The spa was wonderful as well as the massage chair and table! It was awsome sitting by the fire drinking wine and relaxing. The location is great as well. Block off Mopac, right by town lake for the trails and so close to downtown. We loved the fruit in the morning and the selection of danishes, coffee, tea and juice. We could not have asked for a better weekend and would recommend this spa to everyone!

I stayed here while on business and found it a wonderful oasis after a busy day. Jule is lovely, personable and a character. The many amenities there, designed to sooth the soul, are a godsend. I absolutley loved the warm pool. The breakfast fruit, scones and coffee were perfect to start my day and there was plenty to wrap up to bring and enjoy on the airplane trip home. I will be coming back.

My husband and I recently stayed at Jule's wonderful B&B and we cannot say enough good things-- about the accommodations, the hospitality, the privacy, the pool, the massage chair. All of it. When I spoke to Jule prior to our arrival, I was delighted to learn that breakfast was self-serve in the rooms. My goal in visiting the B&B was to have a lot of private, quiet time with my husband, and we appreciated that our food was not something we'd have to go hunting and gathering in the morning inside the main house. (I also used our visit as an opportunity to swing by the nearby flagship Whole Foods to procure a magnificent smorgasbord for our dinner.) We stayed in the Moon River room and the shower was so cool. The massage chair was out of this world. The massage pool really helped me unwind-- I should say I live in Austin and chose the B&B to have a much needed "vacation" in town. I didn't have time to fly out of the city so I picked Jule's place. I've been to a lot of B&B's-- I'm a journalist by trade and have done extensive travel writing for places like National Geographic Traveler-- and I was so delighted with Jule's set up. In fact, I was so pleased, my goal is to start spending time there every month-- a reasonably priced way to totally rejuvenate oneself.

This B&B became my favorite in Austin after just one stay in the charming Moon River room. Well-appointed, it has a very comfortable, cozy feel. The spa pool is wonderful. Be sure to schedule a time to indulge in it. You won't find anything like it at other B&B's. Looking forward to coming back.

We traveled to Austin to spend a couple of days together before a business trip that I had to attend. I booked the room 1 or 2 months out after reviewing many B&B's on line. I must say that we are very glad that we made the choice that we did! Our hostess was tremendously accommodating. She showed us around our HUGE room and pointed out all it's interesting features. The chimes in the room are otherworldly - we had them on the entire stay and found them to be very relaxing! We spent most of our time exploring Austin despite the rainy weekend but thoroughly enjoyed the time that we spent in our plush room. While the pool looked lovely, we never got the chance to try it out as we were just too busy! The room, The Palace, is reminiscent of a tree house, very private and elegant. It is decorated in what I thought was a very spiritual manner and this resonated deeply with me. Jule was attentive, and made us feel comfortable that we could contact her at any time, for any reason. She was very accommodating when we ended up having a package delivered to the B&B. The light breakfast that was provided was exactly what we wanted and very charming. This place has a lot of character and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary and memorable experience. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

We visited in January 2007 and were moderately satisfied with the inn. The East Wing was huge and very rustic yet comfortable. There were a few aspects to the room that keeps our rating more moderate. For one, the massage chair, while indulgent, was a little slow to get started. When Jule demonstrated it, she even had trouble with the remote and pointed it out as something to watch. We loved the pool, however. The breakfast, while fairly advertised, was really minimalistic (pastries bought from Whole Foods, fresh fruit, coffee, milk)--decidedly not particularly special. It would be great if the owner could take the extra time to offer fresh-baked items, some protein items, and hot items. The bathroom in the room was unimpressive and the owner told us not to close the door or leave the door open over the room vent. In all, the room was too highly priced for what was received (we've certainly stayed in B&Bs that were comparable in price but that had dining rooms with full breakfast offerings...also, the owners should take care that everything is in working order in the room and, if not, offer your guests a discount).

We stayed at this location for our wedding night before flying to Bali. Everything was setup very nicely for us. The fire was built and ready for a one match start. It had a very "Texas" and very cozy feel. The staff was very helpful setting up my early check-in for a very late arrival. Very romantic and quiet evening. We would definitely come back. Not a great value at $200 a night, but it was definitely a unique and cozy night stay which is what we were looking for.

If you are looking for a place with an incredible massage pool as THE key amenity, this is your place. If you are looking for a home with an interesting past, this may be your place. If you are looking for a great breakfast, try somewhere else. If you are looking for impeccably maintained grounds, exquisite furnishings, and attention to every detail, you'd do well to look elsewhere. We admittedly chose a tough weekend during the SXSW filmfest, and I was pleased when the proprietor's son called back and agreed to allow our stay for a single night (versus the usual two day minimum), but we did pay a premium of $50 (plus tax) for the privilege of the single night, and for $230 (including tax) we could have done much better staying put in the resort room we had enjoyed the two prior days in San Antonio, or at any of a number of local mid-tier hotels that had rooms available. Jule takes great pride in her home, but for some (me and my wife) goes overboard with the minutia regarding every little nuance - primarily related to the massage chair and antique (?) massage device - details that were unimportant to us as we had no intention of using them. I don't recall ever having checked in to a B&B where we had to spend 30 minutes being briefed... Breakfast was as described in another of the reviews posted here - self service cereal, pastries that were to be at least a day old when we got to them the next morning, and a plate of fruit, plus yogurt, milk and juice. Not what I'd expect (though I'll admit it to have been disclosed in their website) for the price.

I cannot say enough about this spa. We visited to celebrate a birthday and early Valentine's Day. We stayed in the Moon River Room, which was charming and had a fantastic shower!! The shower makes the room, four shower heads and comfortable for two people. Loved it. The breakfast was continental and consisted of beautiful fruit and a pastry or danish. We had access to delicious cereal, as well. Upon making the reservation, I was disappointed to learn that it was not a full breakfast, but was pleasantly suprised by the care and attention to our meal. The room was very comfortable, we barely left, choosing to stay and relax in their fabulous massage chair. Billee brought over the massage table as no one else was using it and I have not had a better massage. The bed is on the firm side yet still very comfortable. Now, to really get to the details, the amazing pool and dry sauna!!! We had three sessions in the pool in our two days there and used the dry sauna three or four times. I have never, never been so relaxed. It was private and so beautiful. I would and have recommended this place to everyone I have met. The price is wonderful for the overall experience and location, right in Austin. We were there on a suprisingly cold weekend and, to be honest, our room was cold at times, especially the bathroom. Jule and Billee were consistently available to increase the heat. Next vacation we take, we are returning, it was well worth the drive and the price, thanks so much for a beautiful weekend. Our room was beautiful with a huge stone fireplace (wood provided), large dark wood ceiling beams and meticulous attention to every other detail. The bed was deliciously comfortable and there was a massage chair that provided the ultimate in relaxation! Everything was clean and the propriator seemed genuinely intent on making our stay as pleasant as possible without being pushy (we did not see her or anyone else after the intial check-in). We had a private mini-refrigerator with coffee for us to brew, yummy muffins and pastries, fresh fruit, a pitcher of juice, and a choice of cereals with a pitcher of milk to go with them. It was a nice touch not to have someone knocking on the door to deliver breakfast, or to have to go to a communal dining room to eat. We had a private bath and private entrance to the outside. We also had the option to use the massage pool and outdoor sauna. The location is awesome for easy access to restaurants and to the hiking trail on Town lake. We definitely plan on staying here again.

The breakfast consisted of a small refrigerator with 1/2 full glass jar of milk (no expiration date, no identifying information) a 1/3 full glass of juice, fruit covered by saran wrap, a half eaten danish, a couple of already opened boxes of cereal, a tupperware container of coffee, and a half eaten jar of mixed nuts. The house is not well lit, the Palace is located up an extremely steep, narrow, and completely DARK staircase. The proprietor chose to bring a LARGE arrangement of potted plants (10 or so) in our room, which took up a majority of the walking space in the room, and blocked the mirror. They were resting on a shower curtain liner. The proprietor admitted that this is not the norm, but because of the unusually cold night, she decided to bring the plants into OUR room so they would not freeze. I should NOT have plants blocking my mirror, taking up space in my room. DO NOT CHARGE ME OVER $200 per night TO HOUSE YOUR PLANTS! The stench that greeted us was unbearable. We later bought Glade Plug Ins to attempt to cover the smell of “Hungarian Goulash.” Apparently their "best room" is situated directly above her kitchen. The proprietor took about 30 minutes explaining things light lighting and her draperies, and asked us repeatedly to sign up for the massage pool. We said no thank you about 4 or 5 times before she said, well, maybe we can talk about it tomorrow. There was no light in the shower, but there was a large Ozarka water cooler in the shower. The proprietor took up all closet space with her own personal clothing and shoes in the closet attached to our “private” bath. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, not unlike a pool table. After the room tour, we were forced to sign a Release that described that if we were to fall down the steep steps that were completely unlit - we agreed not to sue. She explained that this release was "to help make us more responsible."
