Parkview House Bed and Breakfast

After driving for 8 hours I was greeted with a glass of wine and cheese and crackers. This was my second time to stay with Carol and her husband. I enjoyed it very much. It is like staying with family.

This was our second visit to an unassuming home in Amarillo where we have twice enjoyed true hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and sincere friendly conversation. The room is comfortable and our privacy was respected but we really appreciated the interactions we had with Carol and Nabib!

Friendly and accommodating hosts. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. The decor reminds me of my own grandmother's home, so I found it comforting in that way. The claw foot tub is nice if you are inclined to take a bath, spend a few extra dollars for the luxury. Both Carol and Nabil are interesting, helpful people. Nabil is wonderful to talk to. If you have the time, take some time to get to know them.

This was our first experience at a B & B. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and looking forward to staying there this summer when the garden is in bloom. We highly recommend.

Very Lovely home and beautiful back yard. We enjoyed the antiques , yet the house had all the modern amenities you needed. The backyard was like a small park, full of love and care, just like the house. I think this was a great value for what you get and enjoyed our stay.

Our three day stay in Parkview was a delight. The rooms were comfortable, very good mattresses, and also extremely quiet. Happy hour was filled with great conversation and a nice selection of wine. The breakfast meals were superb. But the garden was the highlight for us. Enjoying the antics of the Koi while Carol hand feeds each named fish, spotting several Cardinals, and just sitting and relaxing with the colors of the garden set off each day. Highly recommended.

It was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was good but a little too early for us. We were uncomfortable with the lack of privacy and at our age we need that. Although it was a pleasant experience and a friend lived only 3 blocks away, we have to say we'll stay at hotels from now on.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay...we will use this B&B in the future when we want to stay in Amarillo.

Our stay with Carol and Nabil was perfect. Our room was comfortable, the food was great and the conversation enjoyable. The gardens are special. This is a must see and enjoy B&B

We weren't sure what to expect in Amarillo.... We were greeted warmly by Carol and Nabil and proceeded to feed the fish in the garden with Carol. Nabil poured us some fine wine and arranged for a complementary limo to take us to the Big Texan Steakhouse. After a good bight's sleep Carol made us breakfast burritos. It was a very pleasant stay and one I would highly recommend. Thanks Carol and Nabil.

The decor is very warm and homey. Carol was the best innkeeper! Great conversation, wine and breakfast. The room was beautiful. I would go there again!

Nice, clean rooms. Definately met my needs. The owners are very friendly and kind. It's their home, as well, so you feel a part of the family.

We stayed at Parkview House to nights. We stayed in the French room, which was very nice. We are used to a king-size bed so the double bed was a little tto small and the mattress was harder than I like. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. If we are staying in Amarillo again we will probably try a different room.

This was a great B&B both Carol and Nabil extremely hospitable hosts, would highly recommend to anyone and stay there again in this beautiful house , thanks from Liam & Kate

We had a wonderful stay at the Parkview, Carol and Nabil are most gracious hosts. Comfortable rooms and a beautiful garden. This is an oasis in the desert.

Barbara & I loved our stay at Parkview. Carol's recommendations for local places to eat were outstanding, & we changed our arrival dates just to see the fantastic "Texas Show" musical. Carol's garden tour was fabulous, as was her home cooking. This will always be a great place to stay at while in Amarillo!

My husband and I stayed in the Garden Cottage. It was great!! This place is a great place to stay and is definitely worth every penny.

Stay with Nabil and Carol at Parkview House in early April 2011... Very enjoyable. Loved the huge garden. Bedroom was great. The inn itself was awesome, with great furniture and ambiance... We were the only boarders that night so had Carol all to ourselves at breakfast and had a great visit... Very special stay... Highly recommended...

The hosts are very helpful and helped us have a special stay. The garden is extraodinary. The only problem is the need for more electicl outlets in the bedroom.

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at Parkview House B&B. Both times were absolutely fantastic. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home, and provide a wonderful environment to relax and enjoy your time there. The accommodations are delightful, and the food is heavenly. I travel 2/3 of the year, and stay in many places, but this B&B is not only welcoming, but beautiful. In downtown, so it is in an OK neighborhood, but felt safe. The garden is AMAZING! You have to get there to just walk the gardens before the sun sets. Take advantage, and have breakfast outside. Absolutley fantastic atmosphere. I was welcomed with a glass of wine, and a seat in the kitchen at the table. Breakfast was cooked in front of me, while we had casual conversation. Not stuffy at all. Just like home. I WILL be going back often.

The rooms are like treasure boxes--each one is crammed with interesting old odds and ends that really bring you back in time. We stayed in the English Room, which was very quiet and cozy. The garden is wonderful to walk through at night--relaxing and even a little romantic. Breakfast was very big, which was perfect for setting us up for another 12-hour drive. Also, Nabil and Carol are very friendly. The one thing that we were surprised by was that we were charged the rate for a private bath, when we had not specified that we wanted a private bath. I think this was because we were the only guests on the top floor, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. That being said, the price was still very reasonable.

Carol and Nabil were friendly and welcoming hosts. Our short stay was wonderful.

We had favorable expectations of Parkview B & B and were not disappointed. Comfortable, clean accommodation, friendly owners, solid value. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Great hosts, felt comfortable right off the bat, glass of wine and good dinner referal to Macaroni Joe (looks like a little Italian village inside, very romantic) for good steak. We stayed in the cottage, it too very romantic and cute, all ready for us.

Very clean and quiet, service was excellant and the house was beautiful. Carol and Nabil were wonderful hosts, food was delicious and I learned a few new recipes from them. Enjoyed the stay and will stay agin when in the area.

Some people have the heart for entertaining but not the location or the house. This couple has it all. Very enjoyable, peaceful, and refreshing.

My girlfriend needed to see a relative in Amarillo, so we decided to make a weekend of the trip. Neither of us had ever stayed in a B&B before and did not know what to expect. When we arrived, the proprietor, Carol, greeted us with a glass of wine and a quick tour of the home and grounds so that we were comfortable walking around. The home is a large Victorian style two-story home, with backyard gardens, a fishpond, a Jacuzzi, and several areas to sit and enjoy the morning or evening air. The next morning we had a hot breakfast, coffee, and we were off. Each evening there was a glass of wine and good conversation to settle us down. In the mornings, a great breakfast got us started. It was a lot of fun talking to the other guests and learning a little about their lives. This was so interesting and fun, we would get later starts than planned, just to relax and enjoy a hour conversation with the other guests, over coffee and breakfast. It was as if we had found a little home away from home. Carol and her husband Nabil made our stay so stress free, that we stayed an extra night to relax and get a comfortable start in the morning for our trip home. The home is a lot of fun, with antiques everywhere to wonder and look at, and is meticulously maintained. The area has a number of things to do, including art galleries, antique shopping, dining, lakes, live music, movies, and our favorite, the Palo Duro Canyon! My girlfriend will return to Amarillo a couple times this summer and plans to stay here each time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The b&b was great, the bed just right, the breakfast fantastic and Carol and Nabil were nice and friendly, our kind of people. We enjoyed Amarillo and Palo Duro Canyon.

My husband and I more than enjoyed our stay at the Parkview House Bed and Breakfast. The garden was beautiful, plenty of places to sit and take in the beauty tucked away in the middle of Amarillo. We stayed in the separate suite on the side of the house and were very impressed with the arrangement. It's quaint and practical atmosphere was perfect for a romantic get-away. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, and Carol was a wonderful hostess. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. Recommendation: If you choose to stay here, don't leave without asking Carol to feed the Coi, it's most entertaining.

My wife and I were traveling from Colorado back to Oklahoma after our honeymoon and decided to break the car ride up into two days. We searched for bed and breakfasts in the Amarillo area and came up with the Parkview; we decided to take a chance after viewing their website, not even seeing any of the reviews on this site. We were thrilled with our experience: Nabil and Carol were wonderful hosts to us and were even able to recommend local fare to eat after a long day of driving. The room we stayed in (Colonial Room) is capacious and comfortable; the bed is luxuriously soft; and the historic house is wonderfully kept, thanks to Carol's expert wood restoration and gardening skills. Nabil's generous breakfast was healthy, tasty, and satisfying--it held us over all morning and most of the afternoon. After breakfast, we toured their breathtakingly beautiful garden. We were stunned by the charm and the variety of the plants she keeps. If you are ever in the Amarillo area, STAY HERE. We are planning to stop here again the next time we go to Colorado. We enthusiastically recommend the Parkview House Bed & Breakfast to you today without reservation. Let there be no question about the quality and the value you will receive while in Nabil and Carol's care.

As a woman traveling alone on business, it was especially wonderful to "come home" every night to a beautifully decorated, welcoming place. I rented the cottage - it was far more cheerful and quiet than any chain hotel could possibly be. Every morning, Carol cooked me real stovetop oatmeal with all the trimmings. I was welcomed by Carol and Nabil like family. I plan to stay here every time I come to Amarillo!

Very nice accomodations, great breakfast and friendly as could be.

This was our first experience with a B&B, and it was a very positive one. We truly were treated like guests, rather than customers. The house is charming and fascinating, as were our hosts, and the garden extraordinary. We loved the fruited french toast, too. I would highly recommend this B&B.

The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The house itself is lovely and leds itself to privacy. There were 3 guest rooms in use during our stay but you would never have known it. The large garden is at once spectacular and restful. It would be a lovely place for a wedding. Breakfasts were delicious and far from ordinary. We were given accurate and insightful information about things to see and do in the local area. Carol and Nabil are gracious hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

This is a very nice place to stay. The hostess and host were very nice. The room was very clean. We did not stay for breakfast, so can't rate the meal.
