    Nice Place, Noisy Dogs

    August 30, 2011

Overall we enjoyed our stay. All of the animals we encountered were friendly. The large hammocks are a great place to spend a lazy hour in the shade. I would say that we would come back some day, but the dogs did quite a bit of howling and barking in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, they made it impossible to get a good night's sleep both nights.

    A Very Special Place

    May 31, 2011

My wife and I just spent 4 days/3 nights and loved every minute. This place is close to all the area action - white water rafting; hiking; zip lines; boating; swimming - but at the same time it seems to be isolated in its own little world. Kevin and Carol are amazing host, they have an extensive knowledge of the area and prepare a great breakfast. Their farm is tranquil but at the same time busy and full of life - dogs, cats, donkeys, llamas, camels, parrots, potbelly pigs, goats and their peacock who always seems to be closeby flirting. These animals are not behind some barrier you can not cross or entered, but rather right at hand and underfoot if you want. You are encouraged to explore everything on your own or ask for a guided tour. The rooms are generously sized and well appointed with great views of fields, hills and mountains. The huge porch is perfect for just sitting and watching the landscape with a dog or 2 or 5 at your feet if you wish. We will be coming back.

    Quiet, Relaxing and Beautiful

    January 21, 2011

Kevin and Carol and wonderful people who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The room was large, clean and comfortable. We would have gladly taken the bed home with us if it only would have fit in our truck! Kevin is an excellent cook and made us a wonderful breakfast both mornings. The farm is off the beaten path, but very close to many attractions. You are close to several restaurants and shops but feel like you are a million miles away. We had a great time visiting with all of the animals and loved "Mel" the camel and "Victoria" the llama. We felt very at home and were free to visit the animals at any time, which we did often. Carol and Kevin had great advice for local activities and were just wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back and can't recommend a visit enough. You won't be dissapointed with a visit to Ocoee Mist!

    A perfect informal getaway

    June 02, 2010

I needed a place to getaway and relax in the mountains. There could not have been a better place than this. Being an animal lover, the farm part was just the icing on the cake. The owners, Carol and Kevin were so relaxed yet elegant in their breakfast food and service. The covered porch where the meal was served was relaxed and scenic as you sat outside, watched the animals and chatted with the owners. By the way, you can pet some of the animals! When I was there, they had a labrador retriever who would run down the long gravel entrance to meet you and follow you all the way to the house. And the peacock, with feathers wide-spread and shimmering, was a real trip to greet me at my room! What a photo opp! If relaxed, friendly, with unusual farm animals describes your interest, choose Ocoee Mist!

    Perfect beginning/ending

    December 28, 2008

Rediculously yummy, filling breakfasts, cookies in the afternoon, flirty donkeys, affectionate camels....where else will you find a combo like that? The innkeepers are very personable and offer videos to borrow, as the cable is less than exciting. But who would be inside near the Ocoee and Hiawassee, not to mention all the animals on the farm? I can't wait to return to see the finished bird sanctuary. We plan to book the whole place for a family reunion this summer. Kids would love this place!
