The owners, Mathias and Wendy Fidao Bali, are educators trained in the USA. They bring special education autism training to teachers in Tanzania through their US non-profit, Umali Autism Foundation Tanzania (UAFT). Reflecting Mathias' Iraqw appreciation of nature, the site is landscaped by a tribal elder with gardens and pools which attract resident lovebirds and a great variety bird species. Sweeping views of the Rift Valley and a canopy of stars at night accompany an Iraqw Underground House.
