    Peerless B&B

    November 23, 2012

While on the way to Eastern Europe my wife and I decided to stay in Spain for a few days. We are from a very large city, so we wanted to be away from the crowd in Madrid. The Camino de Soto appeared from the photos and info online to be a good alternative. When we arrived in Madrid Ian picked us up at the airport (for a reasonable fee) and took us to the B&B which the pictures can simply not do justice. The home is immaculate and beautifully situated with a stunning view of the mountains to the north. Ian and Juan Carlos have meticulously planned and graced the grounds with 100-year old olive trees and a variety of other plantings. The house is as comfortable as being at home. We arranged for Ian to cook a few evening meals and were not disappointed. Besides wonderful entrees, Ian made artisan bread which was superb. He is quite the chef! We also opted to have Ian take us on a couple of day trips to Toledo and Segovia. We found, to our great surprise, that the mountains to the north are unexpectedly picturesque. Ian is also a knowledgeable guide. It was like taking a trip to a friend’s house in another country! We will certainly return in the future and have nothing but the highest praise for Camino de Soto and its owners. ¡Muchas gracias!

    Great Service and View

    March 21, 2011

My friend and I spent almost 2 weeks in total at this lovely bed and breakfast. The owners were very courteous, friendly, very helpful and willing to assist us with travel to other locations and basically ensuring that we enjoyed our vacation. Inside is immaculate, beautifully decorated, comfortable and relaxing. The location is stunning with a great mountain view in the heart of Spain’s countryside. The breakfast was excellent with homemade bread, attention to quality and prompt. Service was phenomenal, the owners are very helpful in giving you maps and suggesting interesting places to explore. Highly recommended!!!!

What a treat to have found Camino de Soto

    December 01, 2010

In looking for a B&B in Spain just outside of Madrid my wife Noreen and I were lucky to have found Camino de Soto. After speaking with the owners JC ( Juan Carlos) and Ian we were convinced just by their attentiveness to our e-mails, that we made the right choice, and after arriving at the location which is absolutely spectacular we were conviced. The location at the foot of a magnificent mountain range is breathtaking. The accomodations are spacious, clean, accessible, user friendly and comfortable to return to. The location is not far from Madrid, there is public parking in the town of Tres Cantos a few miles to the south and a train to Madrid just across the street from the public lot taking you right into Central Madrid. Once again we cannot express how lucky we were to have found this wonderful spot and hope to visit again.. Bob and Noreen L.

    Wonderful place to stay

    June 24, 2010

We have enjoyed our stay so much and can recommend to everybody else to stay there. The house is pretty and located on the mountain side. There is a lovely garden and a pool. Our room (La Pediza) was beautiful and very clean and we had a stunning view on the landscape just from the bed. The bathroom is also very pretty and clean. The owners of Camino de Soto are terribly nice and caring. Breakfast was gorgeous! The house is situated between Madrid City and the mountains in the North of Madrid. The owners prepared a folder for the guests which contains a lot of proposals for sightseeing trips in the area. The mountains are not far and also the city of Madrid is not far away. There are also many other interesting little old cities to visit. Also you can do a lot of hiking and there are great routes in the mountains for biking. It is possible to go by train to Madrid down town. The train station is about 10 min. by car. Also by car you need only 30 - 45 min to go to downtown Madrid.
