Marcelo, Olivier and team are very friendly and professional. All staff speak English quite well and were very helpful. Old building in wonderful location. Don't be put off by old exterior - inside is beautiful. There is a small modern lift or old marble staircase. We stayed in Room 4 - didn't have ensuite but bathroom just beside it was good with everything provided including hairdryer. Breakfast was good with fresh juice, coffee croissant, toast & jam and fresh fruit. Superb location for touring Barcelona on foot and Red Bus routes. Wine and Tapas bars on the doorstep and Ramblas close by. We arrived early and left our luggage at B&B before checking in later. Also when leaving, we left it there until afternoon. When we picked it up Olivier helped us out with our luggage, carried it to the corner, hailed and loaded a taxi for us. Fantastic stay with lovely people.

Superb location for visiting Barcelona, definitely among the most interesting and convenient neighborhoods to stay in the city, right in the middle of the Gothic Quarter and a short walk from the marina and beach. Marcelo's gives guests a glimpse into a charming old Barcelona apartment building, with fully renovated and very clean kitchen and bathroom facilities. Marcelo, Olivier, and team are a delight, very friendly and helpful. Just like staying at a friend's home. Room prices are good value. Our only constructive criticism is that breakfast could be expanded to include a dairy element, such as yogurt or cheese.
