Our Inn is ideally situated approximately halfway between the magnificent historic cities of Cordoba (home of the “mesquita”) and Granada (home of the famous “Alhambra Palace”). Casa de Vides is set deep within olive grove country in the province of Jaén (World famous for its olive oil production) in the Southern Spanish region of Andalucia, where the age old tradition of flamenco is still very much a way of life. Christopher Columbus sailed from the port of Cadiz in Andalucia on his voyages of discovery to the Americas in the 1490’s. This area of Spain has a very exciting history, dating back to before the time of the Roman Empire, most of which is in evidence today. Most of all you will find here with us the REAL SPAIN, incredible family values and a relaxed way of life, unsurpassed friendliness, tradition, Churches, Castles, old white washed villages, good food, tapas, great wines, village fiestas and of course lots of sun. We have lots of fantastic walking and cycling routes if you are feeling energetic (the views will take your breath away), sightseeing trips to the local towns each with its own unique splendour (Alcala la Real, Priego, Montifrio, Moclin Zuheros, to name but a few), or you can just chill out by the pool and be totally surrounded by the peace and quiet of rural Spain. San Jose is not a tourist resort; it is a typical working village where every day life carries on the same way as it has done for hundreds of years. There is so much to see and do that you will never get bored and we are sure that you will take back home with you some superb memories of your stay in our wonderful country.
