Evans Pelican Inn

Built around 1840 as the Summer Home for Plowden C(harles) J(ennette) Weston and his wife Emily, the house was used after Weston's death by the Mazycks as a boarding house and in the early 1900s as a retreat for the Executives of the Atlantic Coast Lumber Company. The property transferred to the Weavers and then in 1970 to the Evans family. Our goal has been to maintain the historical feel and share the Inn with our friends. The Guest Rooms are comfortably furnished and have a Queen and, depending on the room, one or two Twin Beds. The rooms have individually controlled central air and have ceiling fans over the beds with breezes through large windows. Guests will also notice the absence of telephones, TVs, radios and other modern distractions. Take a step back to a simpler time and enjoy a real vacation.
