During my son's college search we stayed at the DeWalt home. It was a great experience and teh hospitality was grand. I was directed to go to the Veterans parade and later to the shops all within walking distance. The food was wonderful.

Review The DeWalt House, Newberry, SC

Photo Album

The Sunnyvale Room - Wonderful sunlight spills into this cozy yellow room complete with a queen size bed, fireplace, TV, and bath. It has a cheerful ambiance with a mixture of furnishings and rugs reminiscent of yesteryear. The Oakhurst Room - This stately room, named for a recently demolished mansion, is filled with Victorian antiques and reproduction furnishings. The sage green and beige colors of the room give it a feeling of peace and repose with its queen size bed, TV, and private bath. A drawing of the Oakhurst mansion hangs on the walls.
The Baron DeGrau Room- King George III of England granted Baron DeGrau, an officer in the German army, a large parcel of land in what is now Newberry County. The Baron arrived in 1752 with David DeWalt and many other settlers. This house was built by Daniel DeWalt, the son of David, in 1832. This very private elegant room is filled with romance - from the high four poster queen bed to the lace curtains and fireplace. The large connected bathroom/dressing room contains a two person jacuzzi and a separate shower.Dining Room
