Located on the bluffs of the Ashley River and secluded among tall pines and live oaks, the Inn at Middleton Place offers relaxing accommodations in an atmosphere of unsurpassed natural beauty. A recipient of the American Institute of Architects highest award, the 53-room Inn features elegantly simple and exquisitely designed guestrooms. In-room refrigerators, complimentary gift baskets, 150-gallon bathtubs and floor to ceiling windows are just some of the unique amenities we offer. Included in the room rate is admission to Middleton Place Plantation, America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens, a southern style breakfast and an evening reception at our Lodge. Guests interact with trained naturalists, who provide daily tours and lectures, on land and water, which bring to life the plantation's natural environment.

    Take U.S. Highway 17 South across the Ashley River Bridge and stay in the right lane. Take the Highway 61 North exit just after the bridge. Follow Highway 61 North (Ashley River Road) for approximately 14 miles. The Inn at Middleton Place will be on the right. (1/2 mile before Middleton Place) Estimated travel time: 30-40 minutes

  • Directions from airport:
    Head West on 526 as you leave the airport. Exit Ashley River Rd (HWY 61) You will be on Glenn McConnell. Go through two lights and turn right onto Bees Ferry Rd. At the first light turn left onto HWY 61/Ashley River Rd. The Inn is located at 4290 Ashley River Rd. about 6 miles down the road on the right.

      Cancellations made 3 days prior to arrival recieve a refund less the $15 processing fee. Refunds are not applicable for cancellations made with less than 3 days notice.

    A recipient of the American Institute of Architects highest award, the 55-room Inn features elegantly simple and exquisitely designed guestrooms. Every evening guests are invited to the Lodge for a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception.Each of the 55 rooms at the Inn at Middleton Place is comfortable and contemporary. Handcrafted furniture, wide plantation shutters, and braided rugs evoke a feeling of the past while warm, cypress paneling, wood-burning fireplaces and 150-gallon baths add to the ambiance. Dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows bring into every room the views of area woodlands and the winding Ashley River.
    Bikes are included in your stay for exploring miles of nature trails through surrounding woodlands and ancient ricefields.Once the plantation's main highway during the 18th and 19th centuries, the Ashley River is full of diverse animal and plant life. Guided kayak tours travel the Ashley River and into winding tidal creeks where wading birds, fiddler crabs, alligators and deer can be spotted.
    Horseback riding is offered year round, weather permitting, through flooded rice fields, under spanish mossed drapped trees and overlooking the historic Ashley River.The Honeymoon Suite, often referred to as 151, is the only room on property with a wrap around balcony and a birds eye view of the Ashley River and marsh.  King bed, large personal fireplace and a skylighted bathroom add just the right amount of modern charm.
    Guests can enjoy some hidden secrets, such as this bamboo forest at Middleton Place, while on a Carriage Ride
    Horseback lessions are offered to guests and locals alike.Dinner at The Middleton Place Plantation brings together great food and great history.  Walk from your room along a lighted pathway and reflective ponds.
    The Middleton Place Outdoor Center is home to many native creatures, including this Allie the Alligator showed here.  Kayaking, nature walks, educational programs and team building are just a few of the items they offer.This guest has the right idea, a book in a hammock after breakfast!
    Parties of 1-200 can be hosted at Middleton Place.  Weddings, receptions, christmas gatherings and Conference services are all available.Our meeting facilities open up the outdoors.  Not all meetings need to be held within four walls........
