My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to the Bloomsbury Inn in historic Camden, SC. Bruce and Katherine were very gracious hosts and provided a delightful social hour with an excellent explanation of the local history and restaurants. The rooms were large, very clean and well decorated with period antiques. The breakfast was delishous and plentiful. We wll return to this great B&B soon.

Bloomsbury Inn is an amazing hidden gem in Camden,SC. It truly felt like a home away from home. Bruce and Katherine are the most hospitable hosts. I was spoiled every morning by the delicious breakfasts that Katherine prepared. A glass of wine and great conversation on the porch in the early evening was a great way to wind down after a long day and get ready for dinner at some great restaurants close by. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful home - not only is it very comfortable, but Katherine and Bruce have decorated it with some amazing art that compliments the grandeur of the house itself.

We stayed at the Bloomsbury Inn last week as we headed north for the summer. It was everything that all the reviewers said and more. Bruce greeted us as we arrived early and throughout our stay graciously answered all our questions as if they were the first time he had ever been asked them. The man is a fount of information about local lore, Civil War history and the best places Camden has to offer. The inn itself has been so lovingly restored. Antique lovers will think that they have died and gone to heaven. Katharine's breakfasts are amazing and will be fondly remembered as we diet off the extra pounds. This was one of the best inns we have ever stayed in. I foresee that Camden will be on our route where ever we travel in future!

My sister and I visit each other twice a year and decided to spend a weekend at the Bloomsbury Inn, our first time at a bed and breakfast. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and departed two days later on Sunday afternoon. The Monday after, I still was enjoying the wonderful glow of feeling relaxed and happy from our true vacation. My life is the typical work full-time and a part-time job, wife, mother, cook, gardener and taking care of my husband going through cancer operations and is now in radiation therapy. I forgot all about my responsibilities, enjoyed the time with my sister and we both could not believe the total feeling of relaxation created by staying at Bloomsbury's. Bruce and Katherine Brown, the owners, deserve the best ratings for what they have accomplished by restoring the 1849 mansion into a bed and breakfast inn. The hot gourmet breakfast, the 5:30PM social hour and learning some Civil War history fill out the package. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at Bloomsbury Inn. Our expectations were high based on what we saw on the website. We must say that our visit indeed exceeded those expectations. No complaints whatsoever. Bruce and Katherine are exceptional hosts. The food, the room, the atmosphere of the Inn, the hospitality all were outstanding. If you want a quality stay, come to Bloomsbury! Jonathan Doss

Congenial and knowledgeable host and hostess, comfortable and attractive accommodations and scrumptious breakfast make for an extraordinary experience! Location convenient to many attractions of historic Camden. Regret obligations of my book tour prevented us from staying more than one night. We'll be back. Mary Ann Claud

Bruce and Katherine have a great understanding of Camden and the surrounding areas. The breakfast was out of this world. I will be returning very soon!

We've been reading Mary Chesnut's diary, and were excited when we learned that one of her and James's homes had become a B&B. Never having been to Camden, we were not entirely sure what to expect. Our 2-night stay at Bloomsbury was absolutely delightful in every respect. The house has been thoroughly renovated, with respect for its history, and decorated with antiques Katherine has collected over many years of military postings around the world. Bruce and Katherine are charming hosts. They were always available and informed, but never intrusive. Breakfast both mornings was a gourmet affair. We were even allowed to bring a guest one morning. The pre-dinner social on the veranda is another very nice touch. Bruce knew that we were interested in the history of the place, so he set aside 90min for a well informed lecture and Q&A session the first morning. Later he gave us a tour of the house and grounds. Overall, they've done everything right. Highly recommended.
