This 4 Star hotel features the only full service restaurant and bar in town. Gourmet breakfast is included. The hotel offers an on-site spa with massage therapists trained to U.S. standards.

The restoration of La Posada del Rio Sonora began in 2001 and was completed in 2006. The original building is more than 200 years old and is directly located on the central plaza.
The Hotel was built for the socially and environmentally conscious guest using local materials and built by local tradesmen. La Posada del Rio Sonora greatly contributes to the local economy and donates a percentage of its time and profits to community-based non profit organizations.

FROM BISBEE, ARIZONA:
• Cross the border at Naco
• Proceed through the town of Naco and travel 15 miles.
• Turn right at the T which will take you to Cananea
• Turn left as you come into the town of Cananea towards the town Arizpe this is HWY 89.
• Follow through Arizpe (90 miles) to Banamichi (30 miles)
• Turn right when you arrive in Banamichi at the end of the park that has a large rock in it.
• Follow to the plaza, La Posada will be on your right......................
FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA:
• Cross the border at Nogales (you may take Mariposa truck crossing and bypass the city)
• Proceed south on HWY 15
• After toll booth near Magdalena (1/2 mile?), take unmarked offramp and turn left under the bridge.
• You will be heading east on HWY 054. Pass through Cucurpe and turn right on HWY 89 at Sinoquipe.
• Continue to Banamichi (10 miles).
• Turn right when you arrive in Banamichi at the end of the park that has a large rock in it.
• Follow to the plaza, La Posada will be on your right................
FROM DOUGLAS, ARIZONA:
• Cross the border at Agua Prieta.
• Turn right onto HWY 2 after you have gone through the town this will take you towards Cananea.
• Turn left as you come into the town of Cananea towards the town Arizpe HWY 89.
• Follow through Arizpe (90 miles) to Banamichi (30 miles).
• Turn right when you arrive in Banamichi at the end of the park that has a large rock in it.
• Follow to the plaza, La Posada will be on your right...............
FROM HERMOSILLO, MEXICO:
• Proceed through Town heading north on HWY 15.
• Turn right on HWY 14 heading Northeast.
• Go through Topahue, Guadalupe, Ures, Buenos and Aires
• Turn left at Mazocahue on HWY 89.
• Go through Aurora, Baviacora, Aconchi, Huepac.
• Turn left when you arrive in Banamichi at the beginning of the park that has a large rock in it.
• Follow to the plaza, La Posada will be on your right. - Nearest major airport: Cozumel, Mexico (CZM) 115 miles

Hermosillo and Tucson are the closest airports. We will be happy to give you directions or suggestions for easy transportation. Tucson airport is about 180 miles from the hotel. - Meeting places:
