The perfect gift for every occasion

  • MountainAire Lodge sits on the side of a mountain overlooking Deadwood Gulch. The view of Deadwood and Terry Peak is incredible! Access roads are all paved and the large paved driveway offers plenty of parking space.
The game room offers a full bar with TV for relaxing before a big night in downtown Deadwood or after a long day of sightseeing, hiking, skiing, and just generally enjoying the million acres of Black Hills paradise surrounding us.
The game room is available for a game of pool, warming up in front of the fire, or watching the news on the giant TV. There are many games available; bocce ball, backgammon, chess, checkers, cards, and more.
This is the kitchen and dining area where the great food happens! Breakfast is a special meal here and included with your stay. Dinner is available for a fee with advance notice.
The large King Suite is about 600 sq. ft. and offers a private, en-suite full bath. The view from this room is magnificent! There is a very large walk-in closet and a dresser for your storage use. There are a few stairs to the guest suite level.
The Queen Suite has it's own private, en-suite full bath and a large walk-in closet and bureau for your storage use. There is an in-room satellite TV. This bed offers a feather bed and we provide plenty of pillow choices and extra blankets for those chilly Black Hills nights.
This is the full bathroom in the King Suite. The bath in the Queen Suite is similar and both are new and shiny clean!
The great room has an a large fireplace and is a quiet room for reading or just gazing at the lights of Deadwood in the valley below.

    Birthday Getaway!!!

    December 29, 2012

My husband reserved the king room for my birthday weekend getaway. Tom and Nyla made our stay very relaxing and made me feel very special. The ambience of the game room was great for shooting a game of pool or just sitting and watching a show on the wide screen TV – loved it!!! Nyla cooked very delicious breakfasts and Tom made excellent recommendations on some of the Deadwood restaurants. We enjoyed Tom and Nyla’s company as well as our stay at the Mountain Aire Lodge – the lodge with a great view of the Black Hills.

Wish all B&B were this good

    December 28, 2012

I recently stayed four nights with Tom and Nyla. In short, I recommend this for everyone who enjoys the B&B experience. The facilities are as beautiful as their Website photos imply: new, super clean, spacious, and yet comfortable. Their breakfasts were tasty and filling, yet not fatty. Best was their endless stories of their travel and local experiences. They are great hosts, highly interesting, yet not overbearing. I have stayed at many bed and breakfast inns in this part of the country and this one is by far my favorite.

    Must Stay!!!

    November 29, 2012

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!! My husband and I stayed for one night as we were only going to be in the area for less than 48hours. We had no idea that Tom & Nyla were both writers; no need for a tour guide because we were staying with them! Their vast knowledge of South Dakota & the surrounding areas, listening to their stories of their experiences was just the cherry on top!! Tom & Nyla were very gracious, they have a beautiful home & let you be a part of all of it, everything was clean, and the food that was home-cooked was excellent. It's competitively priced with other bed & breakfasts' - this is a MUST STAY!! We will definitely be back! Thank You Tom & Nyla for a wonderful & unforgettable experience!!

    IMPRESSIVE!!!

    November 24, 2012

I can not recommend this home highly enough. 4 Aussies stayed here the night before Thanksgiving and Nyla and Tom were incredibly welcoming. The home was out of this world with breath-taking views across the snow capped trees. Our hosts shared their stories with us about what to do and where to go and everything they suggested turned out to be on the money. The beds were comfy, the rooms large and the breakfast fresh and delicious. Try it for yourself - you won't be disappointed.

    pleasant surprise!

    October 07, 2012

We have stayed at many B&B's..... This is definitely ranked in the top 5. Our hosts, Tom & Nyla are so interesting, we loved to hear of all the tales from their travels. Their home is unbelievably beautiful... our favorite part was the gorgeous custom bar, WOW!! Our only regret was that we didn't stay more than 1 night. We definitely will be visiting again and recommending them to all of our friends and family.

Best Value in the Black Hills

    September 24, 2012

BOOK YOUR RESERVATION NOW!! My husband and I stayed in the king room early in our vacation and it made us completely spoiled for the duration of our adventure. The bed was divinely comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, the hot tub sparkling, and the view was gorgeous. Their house is close to all the fun in deadwood, but tucked away in a quiet corner where you can watch deer on the front yard while you drink your coffee and watch the sun rise over the hills. Then Tom and Nyla helped us plan the rest of our trip and pointed us to all of the best places to visit.

    What they said!

    September 21, 2012

I really would like to use bits of everybody else's reviews because it is all true. Nyla even chased us down the street in Deadwood just to say Hi and that we had won a million dollars! What a place. It is the kind of mountain home everybody dreams of having. I give it ten stars!...... and several more exclamation points!!!!!!! Larry and Dee

    Great Hosts

    September 16, 2012

Loved my stay at the Lodge during the Deadwood Jam. The queen room was gorgeous and the hosts Tom and Nyla treat you like family. Best place I have stayed in Deadwood by far, not to mention Tom's great storytelling of his trips. The breakfast was superb, will be back again.
