The Craigdarroch has been at the heart of Moniaive’s local community for over 100 years. Tim Claire and family have created a relaxed informal hotel where you can sit back by the open fire and enjoy traditional real ale or play pool darts or other traditional pub games. The hotel has been awarded two stars by the Scottish tourist board a testament to the superb amenities and comfort. Macaras is a traditional Scottish bar with log burner where musicians often turn up for a session or you can enjoy a “blether” with the locals. The lounge bar with its huge open fire is a lovely place to relax after a hard day in the hills or by the river bank. The games room has a card table pool table and dartboard to while away the hours. The hotel also has a restaurant serving food seven days a week a large beer garden and free wi fi. We have 7 rooms all en suite with a mixture of twins doubles and singles and a family room comprising of a double and bunk beds. There is also a three bedroom flat available comprising of two double rooms a bunk room shower room and bathroom. Prices include a full cooked breakfast or packed lunch if preferred. Residents or non-residents alike can enjoy the food served at the Craigdarroch. Meals can be taken in the bar lounge or restaurant all our food is made from scratch on the premises and we try where possible to use locally sourced ingredients. Moniaive the 'Hill of Streams' (from the Gaelic monadh-abh) nestles in stunning countryside where the three glens of Craigdarroch Dalwhat and Castlefairn meet. It’s a bustling village with a long history and strong community spirit. It has always been popular and notable visitors over the centuries include King Robert the Bruce King James IV Bonnie Prince Charlie and Robert Burns.
