Featured in the Good Hotel Guide 2011, the Deeside is a personally run hotel nestling in the stunning surroundings of the Cairngorm National Park. The owners, Gordon and Penella, have maintained the character and ambience of the original Victorian house whilst ensuring your comfort with modern bathrooms, open log fires and individual touches such as homemade shortbread with cafetière coffee in your room. Dining is based on the seasons, both in terms of ambience and menu. In the summer guests breakfast and dine in the light and airy conservatory, overlooking our lovely walled garden and enjoy fresh herbs and soft fruit from the garden. In the winter our candlelit restaurant is warmed by open log fires and the menu offers Scottish game, warming soups and puddings. The individually decorated bedrooms have modern en-suite bathrooms, direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, radio and television. Guests are welcomed with home-made biscuits, mineral water and freshly ground coffee in the room. Most bedrooms overlook the attractive walled gardens or surrounding hills. Two are on the ground floor. The hotel is ideally placed for hill walking, fishing, riverside strolls or exploring the local castles, including Balmoral, and whisky distilleries.

Perth|Road|60|Take the A93 road to Blairgowrie continuing on through Glenshee and Braemar and we are on the right hand side as you approach the village. Aberdeen|Road|40|Take the A93 road from Aberdeen and we are on the left hand side as you exit Ballater heading towards Braemar. Aberdeen|Train|40|Main line services to Aberdeen. From the railway station you can catch a bus ( 201) directly to Ballater. Services run approximately every hour during the day.
