    Best Anniversary Yet!

    January 04, 2013

My husband and I like to visit bed & breakfasts for our anniversary each year. The Nicholson Mansion was the best one we've visited yet (our 7-year anniversary)! The luxurious accommodations and excellent hospitality made it a perfect getaway for the two of us! We hope to be able to visit again someday.

    A great B&B experience

    July 13, 2012

My wife and I have stayed in B&Bs all over Europe, and we decided to give it a try in the US. Staying at the Nicholson mansion was a wonderful experience. Starting with Lynn's hospitality, to the glorious rooms, and the tour of a great home, it was all more than we expected. We would encourage you to partake in the dinner, because Lynn's culinary skills are magnificent. You feel like you are living a special experience staying in this beautiful home.

    An Absolute Treasure!

    June 19, 2012

Get ready to be impressed! Not a single detail was forgotten at this impeccably-maintained English estate. We enjoyed a peaceful night in the very spacious Brandon Suite...so quiet we didn't even realize there was a rooster on the property! Our small dog was welcome to join us, and was treated like royalty. Breakfast was delightful with Lynn and Patrick. All of the resident pets made us animal lovers feel right at home. As fellow innkeepers, we definitely felt like the bar has been raised by Nicholson Mansion! Thank you, Lynn and Patrick!

    Two-wheeled travelers take note!

    February 29, 2012

A spur of the moment motorcycle trip through the Olde English district of South Carolina was made unforgettable by my surprising stay at the Nicholson Mansion. Not only was I a "biker", but it was off-season, mid-week, no reservation, and apparently the ONLY guest requesting a room for the night. It would have been very understandable for the owners to suggest some other (i.e. "boring") lodging in town. Not so with Lynn and Patrick, however. I was welcomed with a smile and treated like... well, the only guest. I recommend this amazing mansion to all my fellow motorcyclists looking for the rare or historic, out-of-the-norm nightly abode. Oh, and don't get me started on the incredible breakfast quiche and strawberry soup... I still have tears in my eyes.

    Christmas Celebration

    February 16, 2012

A group of girlfriends (in our 40's) chose to get away to the lovely Nicholson House in Union for our Christmas party. Lynn and Patrick had beautifully decorated this gorgeous home for the holidays, and they were very helpful and cooperative to let us make ourselves at home and celebrate being together. We had a late night by the fire with lots of music and laughter and Christmas cheer. Breakfast was generous, delicious and lovely! Lynn and Patrick know how to welcome you and make you feel at home. The house is beautifully decorated and the rooms are spacious. I have already recommended this inn to friends and look forward to returning myself.

Delightful stay while in Union for my 50th High School reunion.

    July 06, 2011

I must admit I'm a little prejudice about staying at the Nicholson Mansion since I was very familiar with it from childhood. The house was origually built by my grandmothers cousin so I was a frequent visitor as a child. I was very pleasantly please with the way the house and ground had bee restored. You can tell that Lynn and Patrick took extra special care in retoring the house to its original beauty. The meals I had were wonderful. Interesting enough the room I stayed was the Nicholson Room and the was a portrait of Emslie Nicholson on the wall(he was the bulder of th house).I was the only guest for a couple of days because I sayed in Union for a week so I had some time to spend to get to know Lynn and Patrick. I am an animal lover so I ejoyed all of the animals an dgot to know them very well. If and when I ever back to Unon for any reason I will diffently stay there. Thank you Lynn and Patrick for a wonderful stay making me feel like I had gone back in time to my childhood spending time playing with my cousin.

    Perfectly Lovely

    June 21, 2011

Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip. The house itself is beautiful, and lovingly cared for. Our room was spacious and well-appointed--we truly felt like guests and not customers. The wine and cheese every evening was delightful, and the time spent in conversation was very nice. Breakfast was delicious and not the regular quiche & juice. Our hosts were lovely people and my husband and I enjoyed getting to know them as well as wandering the house and grounds. The only thing that you may want to consider is there are not a lot of dining choices for dinner - this is not against the B&B at all, but be aware that dinner options are a little limited unless you want to drive a ways. But if you're looking for a peaceful pleasant place to stay, this is it!
