Weekend of Rest

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at America House on the Hill B & B. LaVena & John were very gracious hosts. It was almost like visiting with family. Loved it.

Delightful Stay at a Great Price!

5 on June 07, 2015

My husband, 2 teenage girls, and I stayed at the American House on the Hill B&B as a stop-over for a family wedding. I was amazed to find a room that would sleep 4 comfortably. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, with a huge wrap-around front porch. The bathroom was spacious with a large antique bathtub and large tiled shower. Each room was carefully decorated with a different theme for each room. My whole family stayed there for $90! What a treat to stay at a B&B house built in the 1830's. We enjoyed visiting with the owners, had an amazing breakfast with fresh eggs from their free-range chickens and belgian waffles with homemade peach topping, and were sad to go the next morning. And we got to choose our breakfast time! We want to come back just to stay at the house again, but this time for many more nights.

Great place to stay

Innkeepers are very personable and hospitable. Breakfast was great and very accommodating to out dietary restrictions. Lively decorating. You can tell they love what they do. So glad we found them. Will definitely stay there again!

Cozy historic home

3.4 on February 21, 2015

Very welcoming hosts, and large, nicely appointed rooms. But it was very cold weather and even with the good radiators the hot air quickly rose to the 12 ft. ceilings. Delicious and copious breakfast. Dairy products are from a local dairy, eggs are from the hosts' chickens. When our credit card was run, we were presented with an option to add a 15%, 20% or 25% tip. We would have preferred to not have this presented.

Innkeeper Response
There is also an option for no tip. As this is a service industry and obviously a great deal for the money including a gourmet breakfast, tipping is appropriate. I always tip the server when I eat a meal or even just have a cup of coffee at a restaurant when it's industrially processed food. This was made to order from scratch. We're glad you enjoyed your stay, and hope that you consider tipping people in the service industry.

hosts warm and enthusiastic about their continuing work on a beautiful old home with comfortable front porch. Bathroom is shared, but this allows them to keep rates incredibly low. We felt at home with privacy, calm.

The best Bed and Breakfast in the Carolinas

The owners are wonderful and kind. The house is clean, the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast is so enjoyable. The food is the best I have ever experienced while traveling. I will plan to visit again every year! I highly recommend this fantastic Bed and Breakfast to everyone.

Could have had a better overall "presentation"- but It was an excellent bargain for a clean stay and fresh food.

It's incredible... you have to try it to believe it. It's generally the special for the 2nd night's stay. All breakfasts are gourmet and as delicious to the eye as they are to the palettes
