Perfect getaway

5 on April 14, 2016

We had a great time at Plantation Oaks Inn. It's in a convenient location. The owners were very hospitable, and Gina was pleasant. The place is beautiful, and we really enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning, and wine in the evening. Great stay for my sweetie and I. We stayed in the Cotton room, and the only drawbacks to that room are the bathroom is across the hall and no TV. Can't complain about that since I knew it going in. We will stay again. Hopefully in the near future.

Beautiful B&B but felt like a hotel.

3.0 on April 11, 2016

This B&B was more of a business and lacked the "home" feel of B&B's that I have stayed at in the past. It felt more like a hotel, each room/couple had their own breakfast table which lead to a restaurant like feel and missed out on the communal aspect of the traditional B&B. The proprietors of the house answered our questions but did not go out of their way to provide ideas for enteratinment or sites to see. Additionally, on our last day, we found an envelope in our room indicating that we could leave a tip for our house cleaners. This I found to be ridiculous considering that this should be a B&B and not a hotel! The price of the room was expensive enough and I did not appreciate being gouged at the end for additional tips. While the grounds were beautiful, I do not think that I will stay at this location in the future and would not recommend it to any fans of the B&B experience. May as well stay at a hotel.

Innkeeper Response
Our breakfast room has a beautiful view of Boone Hall Creek where you can enjoy your home cooked breakfast at a cute table for two. We serve breakfast between the hours of 8:00 and 9:30 each morning, which provides our guest with the flexibility and convenience of joining us for breakfast at a time that is best for them. It is a quaint and intimate setting which makes it very easy to engage with other guests, if you wish. We appreciate the hard work, dedication and service of our two assistants, Shelly & Gina. They enjoy their positions but work very hard performing many customer service oriented tasks to make our guest’s stay as pleasant as possible. We appreciate their dedication and service and we do provide envelopes for our guests, in case they would like to show their appreciation as well. We have been fortunate to meet many wonderful people from 38 different countries and all 50 states. We are always delighted to spend time with our guests. With so many wonderful things to do in the area we are always happy to make recommendations, if we know our guest are in need of ideas. Thank you for your stay with us.

Convenient to visiting Charleston,

Relaxing

This is a comfortable and clean place to stay. The view of the marshlands is very tranquil. My husband and I enjoyed looking at the view during breakfast each day. It is in a busy road that is not easy to get in and out of. My husband and I like to be in walking distance of restaurants. This BnB is in walking distance, but it is not safe to walk or bike from due to the very busy road without a shoulder. This is something to consider. Steve, Gina, and Shelley were very hospitable.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your recent stay with us. Thank you for acknowledging that the Inn is on a beautiful property. The property was part of Charles Pinckney’s Plantation (1782-1816). It is nice to have breakfast each morning with a beautiful view that is unique to our property. While you sip your coffee or tea and enjoy our home-cooked breakfast, seated at a quaint little table for two, you can look out over the back lawn which is outlined with historic live oak trees and Boone Hall creek (truly a beautiful view). Mt Pleasant has wonderful restaurants to choose between while they may not be within walking distance there are many wonderful restaurants very close by, several of which are on beautiful Shem Creek.

Charleston visit

The only difficult thing about the rooms is the placement of the outlets. We had to crawl under the bed to plug in our phones. It would be nice to have an outlet strip under the bed for convenient access to put your phone on the night side table. Also, have you considered doing any dinner options at the inn for guests? Overall the views were beautiful and it was a magical weekend.

Wonderful!

My wife and I are from the area. We needed a change of scenery and a break from everyday life. We found this establishment several months ago but the timing was off on our end. We were finally able to revisit the idea of this BnB and book a night. It was the most pleasant experience. We were greeted upon our arrival around 8 in the evening and were shown our rooms. The inside was gorgeous and the room was more than what we'd hoped for. Not to mention breakfast the following morning. Absolutely refreshing and well served. If you're looking for a bed and breakfast in the low country, look no further.

Perfect!

This was our first stay in a B&B, and I can honestly say it will be VERY difficult to ever stay in a hotel/motel again. The attention paid to guests at Plantation Oaks is nothing short of pampering. The breakfasts are hand made and absolutely delicious. Freshly made on site. So many wonderful things to say about Plantation Oaks, even down to the way they launder the sheets and towels. Everything has such a light, fragrant smell, certainly not overly perfumy or like industrial sanitizer, but you can tell everything is clean and freshly laundered. The grounds are well kept with a beautiful view of a South Carolina Lowcountry tidal creek/marsh. Several types of birds can be seen from the house. There are several excellent dining locations within a very reasonable 5-15 minute drive. Everything from waterfront seafood dining to casual sports bars. All in all we had an absolutely amazing time and we eagerly anticipate our next opportunity to stay at Plantation Oaks. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about our experience there.

Souther Charm B&B

Cannot be any better! Hosts were accommodating and friendly. Southern charm all the way!

Great place in Mount Pleasant

Plantation Oaks is a great spot and perfect for a trip to Charleston. The rooms were big and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good as well; although, I think we would have liked to have been asked if we wanted breakfast before being served.

We'll definitely stay at Plantation Oaks Inn again!

My husband and I love staying in bed and breakfasts as opposed to chain hotels. Most times, the B&B breakfasts are too fancy for my taste (I either sleep in past the breakfast hour or my husband gets a double breakfast). This is the first Bed and Breakfast we've stayed at that has a LOVELY selection of breakfast items and I was actually able to eat breakfast with my husband! Plantation Oaks was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. While it was a "full house," we weren't disturbed by other guests coming and going.
