An Inn On York Street

We LOVED our stay! Mark and Sandie were beyond gracious and charming, there were fun games to play to kill some time, the landscaping was beautiful and full of various birds, and the food was phenomenal. We hope to go back as soon as we have the time!

My wife and I wanted to get away for a few days for our 29th wedding anniversary. We found a coupon on Living Social for two nights at An Inn on York Street. My wife has been trying for years to get me to stay at a bed & breakfast. I have always been a hotel guy. I am not sure why as I do enjoy meeting and talking with other people. I called and spoke with Mark. He spent a good deal of time with me on the phone to be sure I was comfortable with the dates and the room we were staying in. He explained each of the rooms and the benefits of each as if this were the first guest he would tell in the day. When I hung up, I told my wife, "What a nice man". When we checked in, Mark and Sandie greeted us and showed us around the house. Every room was well done and fit the ambiance of the historical home. I felt like I was staying with relatives and the red carpet was rolled out. They were very gracious hosts and made us feel like we knew them for years. Over the two days, we made use of all the rooms in the house. The piano played lovely music and we enjoyed all the antiques, photos, games, and furniture in every room. The portraits of mark and Sandie were awesome! Each evening we sat by the pool out back and enjoyed the evening. We felt bad not going in the pool as Mark maintained it and encouraged us to go in. I know other guests used the pool so we were happy for that. The breakfast is amazing! Sandie has a different recipe for every day. The plums with sour cream were different and I really enjoyed that as a warm up to the eggs benedict. We met two other couples from NC and FL. We talked for hours and enjoyed the company. We highly recommend the Inn on York Street ! You will not be disappointed as Mark and Sandie will make your stay a wonderful experience ! C & B

We recently spent a weekend in Chester at this delightful B&B. Mark and Sandie were the perfect hosts. In fact, I would say they exemplify the ideal bed and breakfast host. Their home is gorgeous and very inviting. The food was excellent and bountiful. It was a delightful weekend and I look forward to going back.

Lots of folks can run a bed and breakfast but not many can offer the personable service that Mark and Sandy do. We were graciously welcomed and became family. Beautifully decorated rooms and delicious food.

Couldn't have had a better weekend as a couple. Every part of the experience with the Woodier's was the best. Mark and Sandie both worked very hard to make sure our experience was the best that it could be.

We have never stayed in a more relaxing yet lavish Bed and Breakfast. Sandie and Mark were the perfect hostess and host. Their home is absolutely beautiful, down to the self-playing piano and yard filled with nature's best ~ including wild birds, fruit and nut trees. As beautiful as this late 1800 year old home is, the host and hostess go out of their way to make each guest feel as comfortable as family. Remember to bring your appetite as you will surely need it. Sandie is a marvelous cook and Mark, the talented server. We highly recommend this B & B to everyone.

This was my first experience¿ with a bed and breakfast,¿ and I must say I loved it! Mark and Sandie went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome. They make recommendations for things to do if you don't want to stay around the house, and all of the recommendations were great! The meals are fantastic! Plenty of games/entertainment at the house as well. My wife and I will definitely be back.

We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary at An Inn On York Street in Chester, SC. The innkeeper and owners of this beautiful house made our experience very memorable. They went beyond what we have experienced in previous stays at other B&B's at making us feel at home and meeting our needs. They Inn it self is beautiful and a reflection of the Innkeepers themselves. The breakfasts were loving made by Sandy and served by Mark, who offered info on what and how it was prepared. Everything was yummy, but better yet they served an evening meal in style and elegance. We could have not gone anywhere in the area and had such a fabulous meal in such style and class. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms were more than comfortable and very clean. Hope to get back to enjoy the inn and the wonderful innkeepers.

I spent two nights here with my fiance. It was our first stay at a B&B and it exceeded our best expectations. Two older couples whose stay at the Inn overlapped with ours cautioned us that having An Inn on York Street as our first B&B experience might set the bar unreasonably high for future B&Bs. We felt relaxed and charmed on every inch of the property, from our room to the common areas, the porch swing, and the front-yard hammock. But it was our hosts who made the stay. They were fun, genuine people we feel lucky to have had the opportunity to meet.

My husband & I just spent two nights at the Inn on York Street and can’t say enough about it. The owners, Mark & Sandie are so down to earth and so much fun. They made us feel like we were part of their extended family. The Inn itself is just beautiful. The beds were just so comfortable with the beautiful linens & décor of the home. The bathroom was so amazing beautiful... Everything was very clean and comfortable. Mark & Sandie were very entertaining and just a joy to be around. But the food was out of this world. Sandie is an amazing cook. What she could do with a simple pear or peach to prepare it so it tasted like a little piece of heaven!!! The entire breakfast meal was out of this world. Dinner was as if we had gone out to a 5 star restaurant!! There is no way you can walk away from their table hungry that is for sure!! The wines were just delicious. We can’t say enough about this B & B and especially the owners. My husband & I would give them 10 stars if we could and highly recommend anyone taking a couple of days and spending at this resort.

You arrive at the Inn and enter thru an iron gate that is part of a brick and iron fence surrounding the front of the property. As you enter thru the gate, you look across the large lawn and in front of you, on a slight knoll, is this beautiful victorian type home in all its charms. What a way to start your visit with the wonderful vista of a beautiful home. As soon as you enter the home, you have an opportunity to be greeted by Sandie and Mark Woodier. Their greeting sets the tone for the rest of the weekend. Friendly to the point that you feel like you knew them for years, hospitable, and just a joy to talk to. Sandie and Mark have travelled well and they share many of their adventures with you. The interior of the home and the rooms are absolutely first class; every detail in every room of the home has been carefully planned and executed with style--yet it is a comfortable style. Breakfasts and dinner were excellent with Sandie preparing and Mark serving each course with his inimitable style and knowledge of food and wine. It was a cool October so we did not use the beautiful and private pool and its setting to the rear of the home, but we did relax on the front porch, which seemed to take us back to yesteryear. Using this magnificent home as our base, daytripping was easy and we intend to come back again--a true testament to our appreciation of a fine inn and its wonderful owners.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The owners are gracious hosts who enjoy taking care of their guests! The food was excellent...breakfast and dinner could not have been any better. The house and the property are beautiful and well maintained. The B&B is out of the way enough so you can just relax and enjoy yourself, but not so far away that there is nothing to do. There are several state parks minutes away, and you are a short drive south of Rock Hill, SC and Charlotte, NC! After our two night stay my wife and I felt more like family than customers! We are looking forward to visiting our friends in Chester, SC again in the future!

An Inn on York Street is such a unique and classy inn! It was our first time staying in a B&B but we thoroughly enjoyed it! The hospitality is above and beyond what is called for! The rooms are amazing and the house has gorgeous decorations! The beds are super comfy and the pool is really great! Mark and Sandie cook wonderful, delicious meals that totally leave you full, but wanting more the next morning/night! This B&B is more than worth the money and time! One of the most relaxing vacations I have been on in a while!! Highly recommended!!!!

This is a great 1860s house to stay in. The rooms are fantastic along with the grounds but what truly makes the stay is the owners, they are the best of host. We felt like family the minute we arrived. Oh and I forgot to talk about the wonderful food! We will be back
