Jasmine Room (#1): Large corner room - one queen bed and one double bed. Adjacent to the parking area as well as to the courtyards and gardens. If rented as a suite, both rooms together can sleep five to six. If traveling with children under six, we request that you rent both rooms.
Cypress Room (#2): Spacious room - Queen Bed, Twin Daybed, & Twin (pull-out) Trundle Bed. The three large windows open to let in fresh air, as desired, and overlook the courtyard and gardens. If rented as a suite, both rooms together can sleep five to six. If traveling with children under six, we request that you rent both rooms.
Newly renovated in 2014, the bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower, marble floor basin, decorative tile, double vanity, two mirrors, & linen cabinet. This shared bathroom is conveniently located three feet from each room, and is not connected between the rooms.
The secluded piazza is located near the refreshing sound of an Italian-style fountain. Numerous banana, palm and pecan trees offer a truly Southern feel.
Gardens near the owner's art studio. Over twelve species of birds frequent the gardens, and a wide variety of flowers and trees are in bloom year around, including Lady Bank roses, confederate jasmine, and native wisteria.
A spacious courtyard, adjacent to the innkeepers art studio - a great place to visit with family & friends. One can enjoy an early morning coffee, an afternoon glass of wine, reading a book, or taking a nap. The courtyard and gardens may be reserved for small receptions or gatherings.

Merhaven, while being located in the heart of downtown Charleston, is a mere fifteen-twenty minute drive from three distinct, (yet all beautiful) beaches: Isle of Palm, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach.
Come relax in our appealing home away from home atmosphere, in charming downtown Charleston, SC. Located in historic Harleston Village, Merhaven Bed no Breakfast has been described by our guests as "casually elegant", "highly affordable", "adorned with amazingly, beautiful gardens", and "a lovely place to stay". Built in 1928, this arts and crafts bungalow offers two spacious guest rooms with 10' ceilings, lots of windows, hardwood floors, and beautiful, comfortable decor. The newly renovated (2014), shared bathroom offers a beautifully tiled walk-in shower. Our large, open courtyard and lush gardens offer the perfect place to unwind and appreciate the soft coastal air, after a delightful day of touring, shopping, or playing on the beach. Enjoy comfy chairs, situated around beautifully manicured spaces, while the sound of the water from our fountains offers a relaxing backdrop to the hum of the city. A short walk will find you in the heart of the downtown shopping district. Several breakfast cafes and gourmet restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. Located within close proximity to the White Point Gardens, the Battery, and several city parks, we are also near the Medical University of South Carolina, and just down the street from the College of Charleston. We are a mere fifteen minute drive to one of three area beaches: Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and Sullivan's Island. Merhaven is not available for occupancy from June 13, 2014- August 21, 2014.
