The Dream Inn was a great place to stay! We stayed for 4 nights and we're delighted by the space and great customer service. It's about two blocks from Ocean Park beach and near a few good restaurants. Breakfast is across the street at the Kasalta Bakery, which is one of the best in San Juan. The staff at the Dream Inn are very friendly and accommodating. The air conditioning in our room wasn't working well when we checked in and they had the unit replaced immediately. They also make great dining recommendations and can arrange a number of tours if you're not familiar with the island. We would definitely stay at the Dream Inn again!
The guest house was amazing! The staff had everything you needed even the smallest details were thought of. The manager was so sweet and she had great recommendations for local food. The room were clean and very comfortable ! I will definitely being staying there again!
Coqui Del Mar was a charming place to stay. The room was like having a home away from home. The outside patio shared between all guests is very cute and comfortable. Plenty of spaces to enjoy the sunshine or relax at night. The customer service was fantastic. The on-site manager got back to us promptly with any questions we had and was very helpful on places to eat and things to do. Coqui Del Mar is also conveniently located. Only 20 minutes to Old San Juan and Escambron Beach. Within walking distance to several restaurants and the beach.
Near the entrance to the rain forest, appears a hidden, unique residence with several layers of charming rooms and flora and fauna filled walkways to delight your senses 360 degrees. Everywhere you look you will see natural beauty- 3 waterfalls, iguanas, birds, blossoms and fruit trees, a pool and a pig roasting hut--all overlooking the rainforest with views to the ocean and island of Vieques beyond. Charming, welcoming, smiling hosts are the proprietors of this piece of paradise that appears to hang over the island. Consider yourself lucky to stay here, we surely did. Theresa and Tom DePaola
Oh my, two days in Santurce (a suburb of San Juan) and did not move the car until we left. The owner greeted us with maps and "insider" information on "where to go" and "what to see" in the immediate area - all within walking distance. The Atlantic Ocean beaches are only 2.5 blocks away, countless eateries are two blocks away. The breakfast on the third floor dining/relaxation area was outstanding. I arrived very stressed after driving around PR for two weeks... two days, here and I was rested and relaxed. A wonderful place to stay, a fantastic staff,a great breakfast, a terrific location... what else is there to ask for... You will enjoy your stay.
We never wanted to leave! If you can't afford a room with a full bathroom, splurge for an outdoor shower at least--it made all the difference. Looking back, we wish we had made Dreamcatcher our home base for the entire vacation, striking off for day trips out of San Juan and coming back to the comfort and ultimate style of this boho dream. Live and learn! :)
I had the best time at the Dreamcatcher. I felt very comfortable and safe there. Each room has a different theme. A vegetarian breakfast is offered every morning and a vegetarian dinner once a week. The meals were incredibly delicious. Also the Dreamcatcher has a deal to rent a bike, which I did to explore the island. Just two blocks from the beach and the water was very warm. I would return.
The Dreamcatcher is a top notch B&B. It was a very relaxing place. The grounds were beautifully manicured, the place was immaculate and the staff were all very warm, welcoming and very helpful! If you like charming B&B's and want to escape from the everyday world, this is the place for you! Don't miss it!
The only complain we have is that its barely possible to book a room here as they always seemed to be booked. We tried for 2 years to stay here and finally were able to snatch a room. We loved every minute of it, The decor, the staff, location and omg the breakfast is amazing!!
We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise that left out of Puerto Rico. Overall we were pleased with our stay. The place was nice and clean. The AC didn't work very well in our room.
Our second trip in less than a year to Coqui del Mar was even better than the first. We appreciate the care that the property management and staff take to make us feel at home. You can tell that a lot of pride goes into the property - and it shows!
The Dream Inn was the perfect place for our first trip to San Juan. Located within walking distance of the Condado area, and a short walk to the beach, we had everything we could have wanted. Wonderful, helpful and friendly hosts who truly care about your stay, a lovely, modern building with plenty of warmth and character. We will stay again and again!
Lovely and helpful staff. Close to a few really great places to eat. Three block walk from the beach. Simple but clean decor and room. We'd definitely stay here again.
Amazing value, beautiful rooms and decor, close to the beach (and generally right in the middle of everywhere you need to be in San Juan). Also Jose was a great host making sure we had everything and even giving us tips and a lift! Thank you Jose! V&D
My friend and I stayed at the Dreamcatcher this September and absolutely fell in Love with its Unique and Vintage Decor. The Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we felt immediately at ease and on Vacation Mode. We received a very thorough Tour through the house by Gerrit. We loved Jeromes Breakfast and the Yoga Classes at Night. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfy. We cannot wait to go back!
I stayed for multiple days at both the beginning and end of my first visit (2wks) to PR. The inn owner Natalia is very welcoming and prides herself, amongst other things, on providing her guests with 'locals' info about the area so guests enjoy a genuine Par experience. While in PR, I spent one week away from the San Juan area and Natalia was happy to help with directions, translation, and just checking in... I highly recommend staying at Casa Castellana. I plan to visit again in 2016! Hola Natalia!
I've been coming to Puerto Rico for the past ten years and about 6 years ago I found Coqui del Mar. If they have availabilities that match my dates, this is my top choice place to stay. It's sandwiched in a nice locals neighborhood between (but not bombarded by) two touristy neighborhoods. You can walk to the Condado, there's a grocery store right in the neighborhood, and one of the best beaches in San Juan (Ocean Park) is just a five minute walk away. I was also happy to see on my last stay that they had put kitchenettes into all of the rooms that formerly didn't have them. This isn't the Ritz Carlton, but I keep choosing Coqui del Mar because the service and quality for the price are unbeatable! Highly recommended!
Clean but simple rooms. VERY nice staff. Right next to the best beach we found in PR Vendors actually walk up and down the beach selling food and cold beer at good prices. The only drawback is that you have to taxi or rent a car to go anywhere.Besides the beach everything is a $18.00 cab ride away.
Our stay at The Dreamcatcher house couldn't have been better... The Moroccan Room was amazing (I'm a big fan of the hammock!) and the communal areas in the house were equally as welcoming and beautifully decorated. The outdoor shower is fantastic. We are instructed to rinse off after the beach to avoid getting sand in the house, but I used the outdoor shower for my daily bathing as well. (I highly recommend evening showers under the stars!) The bi-weekly yoga classes in the garden are truly magical. Great teachers, great energy. Sylvia was the perfect host. Very helpful with planning our vacation! Upon arrival you will receive a map with her recommended restaurants, cafes, shops; places I wouldn't have been able to find on my own! Outstanding first time Airbnb experience! I will definitely be back!! xoxo Sarah
We actually were upgraded to the Geisha room for our stay at the Dreamcatcher, so we got a bigger room with a shared/private bathroom. Sylvia's friend Sahid picked us up at the airport for a small fee and he got us settled in our room. The Dreamcatcher is like something you would see in a travel magazine. We found ourselves wandering around the house examining all the antiques and items Sylvia has collected over the years. Every time I was in a room I would notice something new I hadn't noticed before. We loved the exposure to the outside, besides the bedrooms every other room was open to the outdoors. The complimentary coffee was a great benefit so we could lounge around the house in the morning, taken in the scenery. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Having an a/c unit was a welcomed pleasure on days it was hot and sticky. The Dreamcatcher rooms each have a neighborhood map with recommendations that was very helpful and small booklet with guidelines. All of the food recommendations we tried were great. During our stay Meeshel was our hostess and she was so friendly and made us feel right at home. We also got massages from her and we both highly recommend taking advantage of the onsite massage therapist. My favorite part about the house was the outdoor shower. It was so nice to shower and look up and see the sky and an avocado tree. We had a good time meeting the guest as well and got to enjoy a community dinner with everyone. We both had such a wonderful time at the Dreamcatcher and hope to return again very soon.
amazing place! enjoyed the room, the house, the gardens, the outdoor shower, the hosts, Sylvia's home-made veggie burgers and freshly made sweet potatoe chips, and sharing them with a full house of beautiful folks out in the garden. hope to return next time in SJ!
Truly an amazing experience! I really cannot say enough good and honestly have nothing bad to say. The experience of staying at the Dreamcatcher house has left me refreshed, relaxed, and wholly inspired. My travelling companion and I could not stop discussing how much where we stayed had set the tone for our entire vacation. Staying with Sylvia, Meeshel, their pups, and the other guests was like staying with friends. I am already dreaming about the next time I will get to go back to the Dreamcatcher house!
My boyfriend & I loved the wonderful tranquility and aesthetic earthy tone of Slyvia's, "DreamCatcher home". Sylvia, Meeshel, Pippa, & Malda were all very friendly and warm. This amazing oasis has it all. We got to meet other curious and adventurous guests. Within the nestling Ocean Park neighborhood of San Juan; DreamCatcher is two blocks away from the beach and close to many delicious restaurants, cosy shops, and other nifty sights.
Syliva is an amazing host. I had an emergency and she kindly accommodated my family of three compromising her personal comfort. Our stay at her house made our trip to Puerto Rico personal and memorable. I will be coming back just to see her!
This was such an unexpected adventure that I'm truly grateful for! When I arrived in San Juan, I got lost and a little stressed, but Sylvia calmed me down and helped me navigate back. She was an angel when I made it - a hug and a mug of tea ready. She is an amazing host and knows how to make you feel at home. Honestly, I felt more at home there than I do at my own home...I became friends with other guests and decided to extend my stay, which Sylvia was more than accommodating to. This is definitely the place you need to stay because it offers a peaceful sanctuary that is nice to start and end each day, and also offers yoga certain nights if guests wish to partake. The beach is right around the corner, and there are also nice shops and restaurants within several blocks. It's also a must because you need to meet Sylvia! I'm taking a note from her amazing interior decorating skills and hope I can bring some of that back into my place. This was my first visit to Puerto Rico, and having stayed here ensured it won't be the last!!
