The Old Place was established circa 1780 to 1801 and is a pre-civil war cabin totally reconstructed. Lots of civil war history and great artifacts. Located just a 10th of a mile off the main road. The cabin has two sections to include kitchen, great room, 3 bedrooms, two large stone fireplaces with gas logs, 2 1/2 baths (whirlpool in master bath). There is a large front porch and a screened back porch. Secluded, quiet and peaceful with several hiking trails.

The Shady Glen Bed & Breakfast is a brand new secluded hideway in Central North Carolina. Shady Glen is surrounded by 34 acres of stunning views of nature and acres of natural greenery, a river twists and turns throughout the property. Listed on South Boston's walking tour, this Queen Ann home is located in the historic district. Charles Bass, the original owner, built the house in 1904, when it was prestigious to live on the main street in town. Many of the homes in the neighborhood are from this era.
