About

The Pillsbury House, built in 1875, is situated on a quiet residential street in Woonsocket's historic north-end of Victorian Mansard design. The property features an original 2-story carriage house with 3 stalls & tack room. Gardens, fruit trees, perennials, and herb plantings surround the main house. The house retains the original exterior millwork and ornamentation such as dentil detailing on window hoods. Step up the granite steps onto the wrap around porch, (complete with rocking chairs) and up to the arched double front doors and ring the original ornate doorbell. Enter the foyer which has a ten-foot canvas covered ceiling, reproduction historical wallpaper, cushioned bay-window seats, walnut ribbon banded parquet floors and a grand oak stairway to usher visitors to the upstairs guestrooms. To the right of the foyer, double French doors open to the formal parlor with cranberry and cream walls, a center medallion ceiling, and a fireplace with tiled hearth. The sitting room has cable TV. Another French door leads to the formal dining room where your breakfast is served using family silver and china. The room has slanted bay windows, plaster cove ceiling molding and ribbon banded parquet floors. Juice, fresh fruit, coffee, teas, bread or muffins are served before the main course.

Perfect B&B

5 on August 14, 2014

Pillsbury house was the ideal spot to introduce my husband & I to the world of bed& breakfast Inns. We were welcomed in by a personalized note then met by Roger, the owner who gave us a tour and filled us in in the history of house. Breakfast was personal & delicious! We would recommend this lovely place to everyone!

Classy B&B in the Blackstone River Valley

4.2 on August 08, 2014

When we stopped at the Blackstone Valley Visitors center in Pawtucket, we told the information person we were staying in Woonsocket and they said, "Must be the Pillsbury House: it's the best place to stay." The Pillsbury house is on a rise above the city. It is a beautiful Victorian home with very authentic period furniture. Our Room - the Victorian - had a very nice bed with a convenient private 3/4 bath. I was going back down to Pawtucket to see the Red Sox AAA team, and Roger, our host was extremely helpful and savvy. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, creative and fresh, including a fancy version of french toast, a fruit salad, and sausage. We enjoyed meeting our fellow guests in the formal yet comfortable dining room. It was a delightful stay, and a good value.

Splendid house on the fanciest street in town

4.6 on October 18, 2013

The mill town of Woonsocket had a small area of exquisite homes where the Captains of Industry lived. Pillsbury House is a 4 bedroom mansion in this beautiful area - a home where one can feel wealthy for a very modest price. A nice place with good food and great surroundings.

Beautiful Historic Home.....

4.2 on October 03, 2013

Elegant historic home on a quiet street in Woonsocket, RI. Beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. Great neighborhood to walk around. Genial host Roger Bouchard provides referrals to many excellent local restaurants (or whatever else you might be looking for). Tasty breakfast, flexible serving schedule. Most comfortable bed in the world is in the White Room (my favorite).

This place was great. I enjoyed the books on Woonsocket history kept in the parlor.

This place is great, in a safe and quiet part of town. I takes you back into another era. I enjoyed reading the books on Woonsocket history that are kept in the parlor. The proprietor's liquor bottles are left out in beautiful cut crystal bottles, which are classy-looking, but I was thinking that if a person was trying to not drink, it might not be a good place to stay. Decor is lovely and the owner and the woman who cooks breakfast are both very nice.

Great B&B

Located in a neighborhood of lovely historic homes. The Pillsbury House is clean and charming. Bedroom was comfortable and breakfast delicious. Very friendly and accommodating. A great spring weekend visit!

A Hidden Gem

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this charming Victorian gem. The innkeeper was most accommodating, even though we arrived very late. The room was adorable. In the morning we had a delicious full breakfast served by a friendly, loquacious cook who charmed the guests with stories.

Very relaxing

4.0 on April 13, 2013

My husband and I stayed one night; we needed to be in Woonsocket on a Saturday evening and could have driven home after, but it would have been very late and so I was glad I had booked our stay. We were very happy at Pillsbury House. I will only stay at a B&B that offers private baths! Really enjoyed the Garden Room. Unfortunately, the next morning, for some reason I became ill before checkout. It was probably a "24 bug" that decided to hit me then! Anyhow, this meant that I could not partake of that spectacular breakfast! I had to leave the dining room and go back up to bed. I told my husband to take his time and enjoy his breakfast. The housekeeper was awesome and asked if there was anything special I needed. She took the time to put water on for tea, and sent that up to me with some corn muffins, which I packed to take for later. I really appreciated that. I hope we have the opportunity to go back some day.

Loved it

I made a reservation for one night and stayed two. For the price, it was a wonderful experience and pol;ace to stay. Like a home away from home. Wonderful, quaint, and charming Victorian Inn. Very accommodating and friendly. Very clean, great water pressure in the shower and rooms are very quiet. Love the fact that I din't need a password for internet access. Innkeeper Christine was very friendly, charming and served a very nice breakfast. Owner Roger was very helpful as well. Left my Hard-drive in the room with and they made a great effort to contact me to tell me they had found it. I will definitely stay again and recommend to other people
