Lovely rooms, but check the amount of stairs that might be involved. Nice breakfast room with one choice of hot breakfast each day made by lovely people and many cold food choices. Went out of their way to be helpful to us at check - in and we really appreciated everything. Would stay again, and highly recommend.

My daughters and I had a two night stay at The Black Duck Inn. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and made us yummy breakfast as well as having home made cookies available when we came in a night. It was a perfect mix of friendliness and privacy. I will never stay at a hotel again! It was in walking distance of the historic distric, restaurants, and shopping.

We had a nice stay. Our room was clean and satisfactory. We had great french toast for breakfast - the breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was the best part of our stay!

The Newport Blues is located on a quiet neighborhood street but is surprising very convenient to everything Newport has to offer. We enjoyed the hospitality of the Innkeeper and the great homemade breakfast each morning with fresh fruit. Room was spacious, clean and in good repair, with A/C. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed in the Blue Jewel. We were upgraded, the room was beautiful. The staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast by Monique was delicious & served with a cheerful good morning. Location was perfect. Close to the waterfront, but nice and quiet for sleeping & sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine.

The room was very spacious, nicely appointed, quiet at night, & the bed extremely comfortable. Only a couple complaints: breakfast hours posted state 8:30-10:00 AM. Our "chef" Joyce was just setting up and starting to cook at 8:30 all three days of our stay, not served the hot meal until after 8:45 AM. The food was decent. The only other mildly irritating occurrence was that the B&B policy stated when booking, that kids needed to be above the age of 9 yrs old, two mornings at breakfast there was a little girl of about 3 yrs old there with all of the behaviors of a typical 3 yr old. She was good for a three year old, but irritating none the less. I enjoyed our stay very much and would stay at Newport Blues Inn again and recommend it to others.

Our room was terrific and the location halfway between the waterfront and Bellevue Ave was perfect.

Suggestions-add an electrical outlet beneath the wall mirror in the main room. My hair dryer chord was not long enough for me to dry my hair and style it in front of the mirror. Also test the existing electrical outlet as my hair dryer only worked in the bottom of the outlet?! Also, to enhance the guests' experience by adding a small bench in lieu of the luggage holder so guests could sit upon it in front of the mirror or place beauty products on it while they prepare for their day or night. We sat on the floor with our beauty products in our lap while we prepared for a wedding. The guest(s) staying in the smaller bedroom have no mirror or place in that room to prepare!

We've stayed at The Newport Blues Inn for many years, in fact, even back when it was La Forge Cottage. It's always been a pleasure. We plan to return next year.
