Built C. 1750, The Melville House is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located in the heart of Newport's Historic Hill District on a quiet street of interesting old colonial buildings. Just one block up from Thames Street with its Brick Market, wharfs, restaurants and shops. Trinity Church C. 1726 and Touro Synagogue, the first in the US, are only 2 blocks away. The rooms are furnished in the Colonial Style. Homemade breakfast is served in a sunny breakfast room.
