The Black Duck Inn is located in the heart of Newport's downtown waterfront area. It is just footsteps away from shops and restaurants and minutes from beaches Cliff Walk and Newport Mansions. Our Seven rooms are distinctively decorated, blending traditional and art-deco stylings, creating a warm but casual atmosphere. For that romantic getaway, stay in one of our King suites with a Jacuzzi and fireplace where you can relax in total comfort.

Booked this place pretty last minute after deciding to get away for Labor Day. Booked the room no problem. When we checked in and went to the room, it was kinda stuffy, although it wasn't too hot out. I called the front desk, and indicated it was pretty hot and was there anything they could do.. WELL THEY DID!! They upgraded us for FREE to the Champagne Suite without even a word. The room was absolutely great, the staff extremely friendly, and you can't be any closer to the action. Its only like 50ft to Thames Street, although even at night it was pretty quiet at the room. I WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

From the time I arrived until I left staff exceeded my expectations, form check-in, breakfast made fresh daily and one of the cleanest places I have ever been. Location is excellent just a short drive to the beaches, once back for the day you can park your car and walk 5 minutes to downtown, and spend an evening of shopping and dining all within walking distance. Staff will go out of their way to accommodate any request.
