    A Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn located in the gas-lit Historic Hill district of legendary Newport, Rhode Island. The Almondy features a convenient downtown and bay view location. This elegant 1890's home has been restored to its original glory and is located within walking distance of many fine restauants, antique shops, galleries and near the famous Newport Mansions and island beaches. Five elegant guestrooms and suites are uniquely decorated with fine period antiques and feature King or Queen beds, private bathrooms with Jacuzzi bath, most with spectacular bay views and some with a bedside fireplace. One-bedroom suites offer a seperate living room for additional comfort and a true feeling of spacious luxury. All accommodations at our Inn are elegantly decorated and feature cable TV, DVD, CD Player, telephone, free wireless internet access, central air-conditioning, private bathrooms with luxury bat amenities, hairdryer, iron & ironing board.     Beautiful

    What a fabulous bed and breakfast, beautifully decorated and finished, in a great location right next to Thames Street and the waterfront. Free Car parking off road meant we were able to wander the area and enjoy all the sights without running up expensive parking charges. The home cooked breakfasts were to die for and a sociable wine and cheese hour in the late afternoon meant a chance to chat to fellow guests. Evelyne was the perfect hostess and we would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a boutique hotel experience. Ceri Hill and Graham Screen, Wales UK

    Wonderful stay

    My boyfriend and I stayed overnight at the Almondy, and we wished our stay had been longer. The hospitality was wonderful, and we especially enjoyed the wine and cheese hour in the evening. It allowed us to get to know some other very interesting guests at the Inn. One of the best aspects of this place is the location. You're within walking distance of numerous restaurants, bars, and shops. We didn't even need to drive our car after checking in for the evening. The only very minor complaints we had were that the bed wasn't quite firm enough for our taste, and we would have appreciated a mini-fridge with more beverages than just 2 bottles of water. There was a loud bar playing live music about a block away, but we didn't really notice the sound with the windows shut. The room was clean and beautiful. The jetted bath and bedside fireplace were especially nice. We highly recommend staying here!

    Great inn with lovely service

    We stayed in the Sunset room, it's on the small side but very comfortable. There were a few peculiarities, like the T.V. is located in the corner to the left which makes it difficult to watch from the four-poster bed as one of the four posts is in the way. Otherwise lovely room, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom has a great shower. What makes the inn special is Evelyne, the inn keeper, who is friendly and accommodating. Her idea of hosting a wine and cheese get together for guests every day at 5pm is inspired, this sort of attention to detail means the Almondy Inn stands out from your average hotel. Breakfast changes every day and is cooked fresh and served with fruit, tea/coffee & orange juice. What more could you ask for?

    • Minimum Stay: Weekend 2-night Min; 3-night Weekend Min. during Holidays and Special Events

    • Deposit Amount Required: Reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of a one-night deposit - including 13% tax - or 50% of total due for bookings longer then 2 nights. Balance due upon arrival.

    • Cancellations: Deposit refunds - less a $25 processing fee – will be issued if the reservation is cancelled at least 14 days prior to arrival. If cancelled within 14 days of arrival, a credit in the form of a Gift Certificate for the amount of the deposit – less our $25 process fee – will be issued (Valid for one year) only if we are able to rebook the room. No refunds for early departures. No refund or gift certificates will be issued in the case of No-Shows.

    My wife and I had been planning a trip to the east coast and decided that Newport would be an interesting destination. Rather than the standard hotel we decided to B&B it, and after some research decided on the Almondy. It was a great choice.

    Nice and Close to everything

    My husband and I went for our honeymoon. The owners were away, but the gentleman taking care of the place was super nice and sweet. The location is right there by the waterfront, restuarants and shops. The place was very clean, I was a little disappointed that they didn't have drinks, tea, coffee out all the time for your convenience, all the other B&Bs I visted did this, but the store was right down the street. Also, there is a bar that you can hear their music till 2 in the morning, however, you should expect to hear some noise since your so close to everything. Overall we had a nice time.

    Location, Friendly Owners, Good Experience

    My girlfriend and I were here for a weekend in April, 2013 and I was very happy with the Almondy Inn. The owners definitely take pride in their Inn and it shows. Rooms were very clean, fresh, and inviting. Breakfast was great both mornings we were there as well. The location couldn't be better - literally steps from Thames street and very easy to get to restaurants, bars, etc. We would definitely recommend/go back.

    Two day stay at the Almondy

    We really enjoyed the hospitality provided by the owners, including sharing some life stories over complimentary wine and cheese! The location was perfect for the time of year we went (pre-season, in April), with a very short walk to Thames St. with all of the downtown shopping, food, and bars. We were still able to drive around and see all of the attractions, including beaches and mansions, within a 10 minute drive. The breakfast served was fantastic each morning, and provided a great time to mingle with the other guests. We had a wonderful stay.
