Tregildry
Hotel,
Helford River, Cornwall
The best places to start planning your UK & Ireland travels are the
British Travel Authority and the
Irish Travel Board. You can find the best airfare deals from November
through March (excepting holidays); lodging and travel costs are often lower,
and crowds blissfully absent. Admittedly, winter weather can be cold and damp,
but that can be equally true in July and August in this part of the world.
You'll always find lots of historic homes, museums, theaters, churches and more
that are great to explore, regardless of the weather, and as we learned on a
recent August visit to Ireland, "It never rains in the pub!"
