The Weaver Family was the first to settle the Mohawk Valley and was instrumental during the Battle of Oriskany which ultimately led to France joining the American Colonies fight leading to victory in the Revolutionary War.

Relax in the evening with a cup of tea and your favorite selection from our "Book Exchange". Choose a Queen, King or Twin room overlooking the village fountain or the tree-lined grounds. Welcome to Northern Lights Bed and Breakfast. Northern Lights is located at the Stillwater Reservoir in a remote area of the West Central Adirondacks. Stillwater Reservoir is 28 miles from the village of Old Forge or 28 miles from Lowville. This area of the park offers recreation and relaxation year round for the outdoor enthusiast. Constructed in the tradition of the great camps of the Adirondacks, our home is nestled in the woods on our 33 acre parcel of private land and is surrounded by the Independence Wild Forest. With only three rooms, privacy abounds at Northern Lights. Our goal is to allow you to experience the Adirondack Wilderness with the ultimate of comforts. Upon entering, you will be greeted by our great room with stone fireplace. The great room serves as a gathering place for guests to read, play games, try a puzzle or watch movies. All three guestrooms are individually decorated in the "North Country" style and have Vermont Castings Gas Stove Fireplaces. Two have spa tubs. Eastern white pine and cedar are used on the walls and ceilings, custom cherry and elm trim are used throughout the rooms. Entertainment carts for viewing DVDs and VHS movies are available by request and guests may enjoy our extensive library of movies. Massage therapy is available by appointment; massage is one hour and is performed in the privacy of your room. A hearty Adirondack Mountain Breakfast is prepared before you in our "theatre" kitchen and the adjoining dining room doesn't have a bad seat in the house. Traditional favorites and some surprises are served daily; including the entree of the day, fresh home baked goods, fresh fruit and cereal. Accomodations are non-smoking, no pets.

We are located in the Adirondacks Tughill region of New York State, near the forever wild area of upper NY state. With a water falls within view and hearing distance, the Opossum Hollow Bed & Breakfast offers a unique get-a-way lodging experience. Our area offers many out door recreational activities from summer canoeing, hiking to snowmobiling in the winter months.

Within walking distance of the quaint Village of Clinton and Hamilton College, the Hedges offers four guest suites luxuriously decorated. Our Federal Suite features period antiques and a marble bathroom with Jacuzzi. The Country Cottage has a large bedroom with canopy bed, tiled bath and powder room, a sun filled living room with cable t.v. and a fully equipped kitchen. The Hamilton Suite has two seperate bedrooms accomodating 4 people, private bath and a sitting area with cable t.v. Our latest addition is the Kirkland Suite featuring a beautiful sitting area with cable t.v. and a private tile bath. Wireless internet access is available. The Hedges is noted for its gourmet breakfast served on antique china and crystal. The hearty meal consists of fresh fruit and homebaked breads or muffins, homemade jams and piping hot breakfast casseroles. A spa style breakfast is also available.
