Located centrally in Cairns' oldest and most picturesque suburb of Edge Hill, we are a handy five minutes from the airport and five minutes from downtown Cairns making us one of the most central B&Bs in the area. We only accept one booking at a time so you are guaranteed the whole place to yourselves - no need to share.     From Cork, Ireland, Julie (Galvin) has spent many years working in th hospitality industry in Europe and Australia. Jesse works full time with the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service helping to manage the region's national parks, state forests, the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Jesse has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the area's natural and cultural values and how they are best presented, preserved and experienced.

    When we booked, it looked like a great place and our expectations were exceeded. Jesse and Julie are fantastic people and great hosts. We loved getting to know them and they were incredibly helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the room was very spacious. Their pool was gorgeous. It was winter, so the swim was brief and cool, but great after the 5km walk in the neighboring botanic gardens (2 blocks away). Getting the the airport was a breeze. Great suburb community just outside the bustling city. This is the only place we will stay if/when we get back there. We even convinced a couple of tour salespeople in Sydney to stay there when they make it up to Cairns.
