A Weekend at B&B De La Fontaine

    May 28, 2013

Comparing our experience to that of other reviewers, we were at a disadvantage from the start because our hostess, Victoria, would be out of town over the weekend. Consequently, all the observations made about fantastic breakfasts and doting service were lost on us. Nonetheless, the experience met our expectations and in some respects exceeded them. When we booked the reservation, Victoria immediately warned us that she would be out of town over the weekend and consequently reduced our daily rate to make up for the lack of a breakfast to go with our bed. She was exceedingly helpful in describing how we would obtain access to the building, which room we were in, a list of local restaurants which served breakfast, and where to park. And as our travel date approached, confirmed with us the above information. Most remarkably, we found everything as advertised. The code to the front door worked, our room awaited us, and instructions (with a map) for parking was on the desk. Our room, while not the most luxurious was comfortable and we had plenty of additional, clean, fresh linens. There were no views to write home about but then we spent so little time in the room anyway that it really didn't matter. Perhaps the best attribute is the B&Bs location: on a quiet side street within 5 to 10 minutes walk of all the major sites within the old Quebec City area. Even parking was at most a 5 minute brisk walk away. For what we were looking for, a quiet place, slightly off the beaten track, this was ideal.

    October 16, 2012

This is a lovely B&B! The hostess, Victoria, is extremely sweet and has a beautiful place! She makes a delicious breakfast! The place was wonderful, warm, and inviting. Our room was extremely comfortable! I really loved it! The location is perfect too, only steps from the Chateau Frontenac! I can't wait to go back and recommend it to anyone!

A four star experience on a three star budget!

A great place to stay in Quebec City, close to points of interest and full of atmosphere. Meals were delightful, the bed most comfortable. Steps are steep so be prepared. Friendly place.

This B&B Has It All :-o)

    September 22, 2011

We stayed here for five nights and immediately started referring to it as "home". The location is perfect for it's close proximity to all that QC has to offer. Our hostess was an excellent cook and extremely pleasant and guest service oriented. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We were so pleased with every aspect of our stay. I would definitely return.

One great little Bed and Breakfast

    June 19, 2011

We spent eight nights in this charming little bed and breakfast! It dated back to 1865 with all the ambiance of yesteryear and all the comforts of the modern day. It is located in the older district of the city with all the solitude one needs and yet at the same time within walking distant of all the attractions and shopping one could possibly want. We began each day with their abundant buffet breakfast. The menu included all the specialties of the area including, quiches, crepes, omelets, and coffee cake. It also included some of the staples of any breakfasts such as fresh fruit, varieties of eggs, and cereals. They even went the extra mile to cater to our respective medically restricted diets, which can be a challenge at times. The owners were very welcoming and eager to: answer any questions, or point you in the right direction. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We came home to the bed and breakfast every night and collapsed into our VERY comfy beds, and looked forward to the morning sunshine streaming through our french windows. We hope to return to this city and this bed and breakfast in the near future.

    Enchanting experience in Quebec City

    April 28, 2011

I normally don't do this but after spending a wonderful Easter week-end at Gite De Paris, I felt compelled to share our experience. We stayed in a beautfully decorated room in a quiet and lovely B&B. The owners made us feel very welcome and at home and were very helpful in planning our activities in Old Quebec. Breakfest was amazing and we loved the proximity to all attractions. I highly recommend Gite De Paris to everyone.

    A Wonderful B&B!

    September 13, 2010

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th anniversary in Quebec City, staying at Gite de Paris. The room was small, but very cozy and we even had a balcony off of the room where we could enjoy a glass of wine at night. The buffet style breakfast was out of this world. Fresh fruit, an assortment of cheeses, heavenly home made coffee cake, zucchini quiche: there was something for everyone and everything was superb. I'd definitely stay there again.
