3.8 out of 5Wonderful but don't arrive late!
April 23, 2013
Hello, We loved University Bed and Breakfast in Montreal. Wonderful location. A room full of character and with all the amenities we could possibly want. Very quiet too. The only issue? We arrived after 6 PM to locked doors, no one to greet us, and no way to get in! We had not had any advanced warning of this, not even an e-mail. Imagine being in this situation after an international flight and a heavy suitcase to carry. There was a message in the tiny entrance preceding the locked door, telling us that our keys were in the lock box. There was a lock box with a combination lock. Problem is, no one had told us of this and we did not know the combination. So, we were there and had to try and call the owner on our cell phone (international call for us). We only got a voice answering machine. I left a message, but not one called back. In desperation, we rang the bell of the next door neighbors and a friendly lady emerged who was able to tell us what the combination was, so we were able to get our keys. All was well in the end, and we loved the place, but we had a tremendous scare on arrival. I would suggest that guests be informed of all of this prior to their traveling. We sure were not. Otherwise, once again, a lovely place.

Very pleasant, but not fancy B&B. Best location for visiting McGill as it is practically on campus. Comfy beds and pillows. Quiet location, though sound travels up from the dining area. Lovely breakfasts with fresh Montreal croissants and bagels. French press coffee. Only complaint regards low water pressure in the shower.
4.6 out of 5Great place, no "kitsch", great coffee :-)
October 06, 2012
The house is centrally located in quiet area next to McGill. The rooms are traditional with modern touch and furniture, facilities and kitchen/breakfast area are completely decorated without any Victorian or similar touch. Great breakfast: best coffee in town (Bodum, very strong). Thumbs up ! It's a recommendation.

The room was comfortable, the location was great and the breakfast was adequate. The worst part was sharing a bathroom. I definitely suggest getting a room with a private bathroom!

A good option in cool neighbourhood. If we stayed downtown, we would have missed this great part of the city. All necessary facilities and transport connections nearby. Rooms are comfortable. We stayed in the Brickroom at the front, which was quite noisy with all the drunk university students on the weekend. Kitchen was tiny but had what we needed. Good breakfast.

Walking distance to all of McGill -- recommended for any stay involving the university. Also walking distance to restaurants.
