The home is tastefully decorated with Antiques (Louis XV) and oriental carpets. It is a truly 4 seasons oasis in a most tranquil exclusive waterfront setting for those who appreciate the arts and a cultural life or who seek a quiet respite from a hectic life. Privacy is assured by a cedar hedge surrounding the property and by its host. Ideal for longterm business stays.(Pharmaceuticals and Hightech companies are in close reach).

This place was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom had not been cleaned! Urine stains around base of toilet and seat. On top of that pubic hairs in on toilet seat. Towels we're smelly and and damp. The shower tiles had so much mold/mildew and had not been cleaned since I don't know when? There were no blinds or shades on bedroom windows, just sheer curtains, which I found out early am while I was trying to sleep in lieu of the hard bed. There were ants in the room, no lock on the door, and during the night the outside light kept coming on. I absolutely discourage anyone who wants to stay at this so called B&B. it's not legitimate, the city doesn't know it exists, let alone the neighbours! I came in to spend time with my sister who has cancer, and loosing a hefty $110.00 for the first night there. Yes I left, and not fast enough....found a wonderful place to stay...which was clean, friendly and cost efficient. Overall, stay away from this place.

Rosemary demonstrates an unwavering commitment to hospitality and service, showing genuine interest in her guests and their comfort. You will be an honoured guest in her home, which enjoys a spectacular river-front location in a beautiful neighborhood. Rosemary goes over the top for her guests, which makes this a good choice for a business traveller wanting a quiet yet conversation-filled alternative to default run-of-the-mill hotel options.

We attended a wedding near by and found the experience to be delightful. Our hostest was very sincere, accomdating and charming. The breakfast a very special treat my daughter , 16, still referrs to months later. Should the opportunity arize we would definitely return. Next time with more time to linger across the street on the lake.

This was a "find." We travel to Montreal regularly to visit our youngest daughter, at the McGill University...and to be in the city, a wonderful place. This time, however, in that our daughter was moving to a new apartment with her roommates, we needed to haul up some furniture for her in our enclosed trailer...which would not fit into an underground parking garage associated with an in-town hotel. So, I searched for a B & B (more likely to have "space" to park the trailer)...and found The Gables. Rosemarie was exceptionally accommodating...and is a true "hostess." An engaging individual, intelligent and world-traveled, Rosemarie makes for an interesting and enjoyable visit to her lovely, garden-surrounded home on a huge lake. In addition, she's located in West Montreal, an extensive area of small towns, lovely public parks, bike, walking and skating trails, and lots to discover...which, otherwise, we wouldn't have "noticed" from our normal, downtown hotel lodgings. What a lovely time we had...and our daughter's move went smoothly, to boot!
