B&B Casa Leopardi

  • Inn Details

B&B Casa Leopardi is housed in the 19th Century building that was once home to one of Italy's most famous poets, Giacomo Leopardi, in the very safe historical center of Florence. Casa Leopardi's prices are very competitive. Our B&B represents a very personal and refreshing alternative to traditional hotels. It consists of three beautiful and brighty rooms and it is located in an old building famous for its historical importance. The rooms are very comfortable and the furnishing and decor are in the elegant style and charm of a traditional 19th century Florentine home. They have their own private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, air-conditioning and heating in season, television, WiFi wireless Internet and a safe deposit box. It is easy walking distance to the Duomo, the Uffizi Art Gallery, Piazza Santa Croce, the Ponte Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens, the Lungamo alle Grazie and more...

We stayed in the Yellow room for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Alfredo and his wife were warm and welcoming, and our room was clean and beautiful. We asked for restaurant recommendations, and got fantastic suggestions. I had a sore throat one morning, and they brought me honey to sooth the pain. In short, they were wonderful, and this is what every B&B should be. The location could not have been better. It is close to everything, but yet not in a touristy area. We had a wonderful time, and the next time we head to Florence, we will certainly stay here. Doug and Hilary

My wife and I recently spent two weeks at Casa dei Tintori, which turned out to be our lovely home away from home. And Alfredo and Valeria unexpectedly changed from being hosts to family. This was our third trip to Florence and we wanted to experience it like natives, not like tourists. We got more than we bargained for, both bad and good. Soon after our arrival, we both came down with flu-like symptoms, probably contracted on our overseas flight. Right away Alfredo called a Tourist Doctor who came within an hour, examined us and gave us anti-biotics. While we were recovering, Valeria became our nurse and made sure we had all the food and OTC medicine we needed. When we were back on our feet, Alfredo steered us to restaurants frequented by locals, not tourists, where we ate the best Italian food ever. I forgot to mention that their B&B was very comfortable, clean and homey, and the free Internet computer enabled us to keep in e-mail touch with family back home. Somebody up above was guiding us when we selected Casa dei Tintori for our stay in Florence which, incidentally, was in June 2009. Joel
