Mango Beach Inn

  • Inn Details

Mango Beach, a bed and breakfast inn on the waterfront at Marigot, described by James Michener as ‘the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean.’ A landmark building in local stone, set in lush tropical gardens with stunning harbour views and a boardwalk direct to sandy Labas Beach. Mango Beach shares its private dock with Rainforest Hideaway, one of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. Perfectly located for diving and walking holidays, or for just relaxing by the pool. For those who want to explore we are halfway between the beaches, nightclubs and restaurants in the north and the mountains, rainforest and hot springs in the south. Families with children are very welcome and babysitting is available.

    • Directions to property:
Mango Beach is on the North Side of Marigot Bay which is on the Caribbean coast, Marigot is a port of entry and many visitors come in by boat from other islands. there is only one road to Marigot so it's easy to find from anywhere in the island. Mango Beach is accessible by 24 hour ferry (unlimited pass included in the room rate). Just go to the ferry dock and ask for Mango Beach.

    Airport

    • Castries, St. Lucia (SLU-Vigie) 5 miles

    • Directions to property:
SLU-Vigie takes smaller planes, including some US flights and is 20 minutes from Marigot. The largest jets can only land at Hewanorra airport in the south which is one hour's drive from Marigot. A ten minute helicopter trip from Hewanorra to Vigie shortens that journey.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mango Beach Inn in Marigot Bay. Never having been to St. Lucia and wanted to explore the island, we initially only booked three nights at the Bed and Breakfast, worried that it would be too isolated for our family. We soon found that after the three nights, we decided to stay the entire week at the Mango Beach Inn, as we felt it had everything we needed. It was ideally centrally located for our day outings, had water sports available on premises and wonderful restaurants. Judith and John the owners made you feel at home in their comfortable bed and breakfast. Each morning we enjoyed a healthy and filling breakfast before starting our day. Judith and John's knowledge of the island, helped us have a true St. Lucia experience, and were able to do everything on our wish list, from kayaking, ziplining, the volcano and mud baths and lots of snorkeling. After a full day of exploring, we were always happy to "come back home" to Mango Beach Inn. The evenings were peaceful and we were able to spend quality family time with our two children, ages 11 and 13, who fell in love with Winston and Lady, the owners dogs. I would suggest renting a car, although the roads are not the best, but I think it was more economical to see the island this way.
