General InformationCoined as the “Jewel of the Ohio Valley” by architectural historians, Aspen Manor’s turn-of-the-century craftsmanship with theme-decorated--Oriental, Turkish, Presidents, Native American, lodge—rooms, and awe-inspiring chapel is best the kept historic marvel in the region. Originally known as Vancroft, this architectural achievement was designed by Alden & Harlow, the legendary architects to the affluent elite.
Situated on a private 600-acre nature preserve overlooking the Ohio River, guests have access to the grounds for hiking, bird-watching, cross-county skiing or private catered events. Nearby activities—theatre, music, golf, fishing, horseback riding, museums, casinos and shopping—are short distances from our resort.
