We started our trip with 3 days at Casa Joaquin and ended it with another 4 days. The facility is near the airport and the staff is accommodating as well as friendly. They were able to provide a home environment and the breakfast was wonderful. Our manager Phem was a fantastic cook and Tessie and Jay R took care of our every need, it was a blessed experience. I have stayed at Casa Joaquin twice. Once for three weeks while I had surgery in Manila. It is a very nice house with a pretty and quiet patio area surrounded by a pleasant garden and yard. The rooms are nice and the AC works. It is not near the downtown area, but it is easy to get downtown. I am good at using the local transportation, but that is not necessary since you can easily use taxis which are cheap compared to the US. The first time I went to Manila I stayed at Casa Joaquin for a couple of days then moved to a downtown hotel. After trying a couple of those hotels I quickly decided to come back to Casa Joaquin. The cleaner and more pleasant surroundings made the commute to the city preferable for me. So, I can comfortably recommend this place to anyone staying in Manila. I had the occasion to meet Dony, an owner, and he was a gentleman and all around great guy.
