Filled with fine wood work from past Bar Harbor "cottages", the inn is one of the village's original B&B's, and best described as a gentleman's retreat, and a very cool place to spend your holiday. The inn's in town location is ideal for those who like to leave the car behind. The Gothic guest rooms come with special treats like turrets, stain glass, roof windows, fire places, private porches, spiral staircases, and magnificent bed mantles. Unique for small inns in the village is the Friar's Pub. Entertain, meet some locals, and nourish yourself in the pub with nightly lite fare. Enjoy the inn's roof deck with a beverage from the pub. Relax in the classic living room or retreat to the mysterious Groto for a game. Step into the Friar and step into Medieval times.
