Is your group of 8 or more ready for the hunt? Are you able to win the grand prize of a One Night Stay Gift Certificate at Chestnut Hall Bed and Breakfast on a future visit? Then our Scavenger Hunt Weekend is just for you.

After you check in on Friday afternoon you will attend a "Scavengers Mixer". During the "Scavengers Mixer" you'll be given a list of riddles to solve and a list of participating shops in New Oxford. Your first task will be to solve the riddles. After breakfast on Saturday morning you will hit the streets of New Oxford in search of the items of your solved riddles. The person or team who finds the most correct items, marks them on their answer form, (you do not buy the items) and returns their form on Saturday afternoon will be deemed the winner. A tie breaker will be available because there can be only one Grand Prize winner.

This package includes a two nights stay at Chestnut Hall, breakfast for two on Saturday and Sunday mornings, the "Scavengers' Mixer" on Friday evening and a Saturday afternoon mixer when the "Best of the Scavengers" will be awarded their prizel. A two night minimum (Friday and Saturday) is required. Special rates apply.

It’s our Murder Mystery Weekend where guests participate in solving a murder. There will plenty of time to socialize and get acquainted with the other participants Friday evening, leaving Saturday morning and afternoon for sleuthing through the Antique and Gift shops in town. On Saturday evening you will have the opportunity to put your sleuthing skills to work and see if you can determine who among you is the murderer... and don't be too surprised if it's you.

The best spot for relaxing just might be in the Library / Gentlesman's Drawing Room and the Main Parlor. This area provides plenty of room to spread out for playing games, catching up on the news (if you feel you must) or reading a good book. If you didn't bring one with you feel free to browse through our collection. Board games and cards are also usually available to borrow.Breakfast is served in the formal Dining Room at Chestnut Hall. House specialties include Frazzled Eggs, Belgian Waffles, Breakfast Pie, Eggs Benedict and occasionally in the afternoon home made Sweet Potato Biscuits can be found in the living room.
The Lady's Parlor offers a warm feeling of old time charm. Keeping with the original scheme of the house this room remains the Lady's Parlor and Music Room with a restored Victrola and an Estey Pump Organ from Brattleboro Vermont. The gardens at Chestnut Hall have something to offer year around.

When you wake up on the queen size bed you’ll need to rub your eyes to make sure you’re not outdoors under a grape arbor. A large cast iron soaking tub with shower helps make the Vineyard a popular choice for guests at Chestnut Hall.
The Walnut Room is one of the most popular rooms at Chestnut Hall. A large bay window that adjoins a screened balcony shaded from summer’s afternoon sun makes this a great retreat to watch the rest of the world. A lovely 1930s walnut queen size bed will provide you a restful night’s sleep. Even though the private bathroom with a shower/tub combination is not attached it is the largest bath in the house.
