GOOD: charming hosts, nice location BAD: just about everything else. We booked a 4 night stay based on their photos and description posted on Hotels.com, Expedia.com and Tripadvisor.com. They were very misleading, for instance: There is a photo of a pool but there is NO pool. The page said there was a lounge/bar and had a photo of a cool summer drink- there is no bar/lounge. They say there is airconditioning but all we had a a freestanding floor unit in another room (because the tube had to be vented out a window) that barely made a dent in the oppressive heat. We stayed in the "Gable Suite". It had a fridge and a microwave, but we were asked not to use the microwave because it would blow a fuse. The fireplace was fake (2'x2' ) and had no outlet nearby to plug it in. There were no robes. There was a coffeemaker and instant coffee but no cups/mugs. There was no iron/ironing board. Our room was NEVER cleaned the 5 days/4nights we spent there. NO garbage emptied, NO bed made, NO fresh towels. There were NO curtains to block out the sun/heat pouring throught the windows and skylights- or to block the view of anyone walking by. You woke when the sun came up, nothing to block the sun. There was a hottub in the corner with a shower attachment, but no place to attach it to to free up your hands to shampoo or bathe, but that was probably because the cord was so short you could not stand up. Since you would be in full view of anyone walking by (again no curtains/shades etc) it mayhave been a good idea. UGLY: The owner said they had bought the name but not the original property we saw the photos of TWO YEARS AGO. They had plenty of time to correct the amenities listed and the photos. He even mentioned a man last year had asked where their pool was. Postscript: Since we complained the owners have deleted the photo of the pool, but still list all the amenities.

    Innkeeper Response
We would like to thank this guest for bringing these issues to our attention. We are now in communication with Expedia, hotels.ca, etc. to make sure that all information is up to date. The photos and amenities were updated two years ago, however, even though they are accurate on BedandBreakfast.com, expedia, hotels.ca, etc.combined the old photos with the new which has been misleading. The amenities list does not include a Pool, however the photo of a pool was there. The air conditioning issue in the Gable is being dealt with. The skylights are very difficult to cover from the morning light, however, we will change our listing to make sure guests are aware of this before they book the suite. We would also like to offer this guest a complimentary stay in an upgraded suite.

The owners are charming and wonderful. The owners will cook traditional Polish meals, which I recommend. The property is incredibly beautiful, with a billiard table in the basement. Walking down to the pond is relaxing (there's also a hidden path right next to a creek).

Nature lovers -- this is the place!

We especially enjoyed the walking trails to the private lake on the property. We have lovely memories of sitting by the fire under the gazebo. You feel like you have gone to Algonquin Park! Lovely rooms, great food. The owners are Polish and very hospitable.
