Breakfast Quiche: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pie Crust

  • 1 bag (20 oz.) Hash browns (frozen)

  • 4 Eggs

  • 2/3 cup Whipping cream

  • 1 (cooked) Ground pork/sausage

  • (4oz) (fine shred) Parmesan cheese

  • (4oz) (fine shred) Cheddar Cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon Basil leaves (dried)

  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon Parsley flakes

  • 1/8 (if desired) Salt

  • 1 chopped fresh) Chives

Step 1:

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2:

Place pie crust in 9 inch glass pie plate.

Step 3:

In large bowl, beat eggs and whipping cream with wire whisk until well blended. Stir in thawed hash browns and remaining ingredients, except chives. Pour filling into crust-lined pie plate. Spread evenly and sprinkle top with chives.

Step 4:

Bake 30-40 minutes or until edge of filling is light golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Step 5:

You may substitute the sausage with 7-8 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon (about 1/2 cup) Serve with toast or bisquits and homemade jelly or preserves.
