Breakfast Quiche
Total preparation time: 20 min
Serves: 6Ingredients:
- 1 Pie Crust
- 1 bag (20 oz.) Hash browns (frozen)
- 4 Eggs
- 2/3 cup Whipping cream
- 1 (cooked) Ground pork/sausage
- (4oz) (fine shred) Parmesan cheese
- (4oz) (fine shred) Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon Basil leaves (dried)
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Parsley flakes
- 1/8 (if desired) Salt
- 1 chopped fresh) Chives
Steps:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place pie crust in 9 inch glass pie plate.
- In large bowl, beat eggs and whipping cream with wire whisk until well blended. Stir in thawed hash browns and remaining ingredients, except chives. Pour filling into crust-lined pie plate. Spread evenly and sprinkle top with chives.
- Bake 30-40 minutes or until edge of filling is light golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- You may substitute the sausage with 7-8 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon (about 1/2 cup)
Serve with toast or bisquits and homemade jelly or preserves.
