We stayed at Lillaskog Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2011. Our main purpose was to see Yosemite National Park. We are from the southeastern United States so the scenery was very different and beautiful. We found Lillaskog to be everything we needed and more. Both Bill and Kathy were very helpful. I especially appreciated Kathy's independent spirit. Breakfast was healthy and choices were plenty. I liked having cats and dogs around and the pet friendly atmosphere. I had hoped to visit the goats, horses and other 4 legged friends but just not enough time. Rooms are clean, spacious and nice. We were downstairs so unfortunately it was a little noisy when the folks upstairs were moving around. The view off the porch is AWESOME and coffee was always ready for that early morning wake-up to enjoy the view of the mountains. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! I will recommend it to any friends who are headed West.

We enjoyed our stay at Lillaskog while visiting Yosemite. It is close to the park entrance. We were very impressed by the views. We also enjoyed the breakfast. It was a nice place to stay.

A different experience than last few years

On the plus side, a lovely site, spacious, clean rooms, great view, fantastic breakfast, games and books, an upright piano in the common room. Changed from last few years: the atmosphere. There used to be laid back, friendly, helpful staff that made the return from hiking days feel like a comfortable 'home away from home'. Now it seems more like an cautious evening visit to an acquaintance who has LOTS of rules: not as relaxed an atmosphere.

    Very disappointed with the reception.

The owner of the Bed and Breafast was not nice at all. She never says "good morning" and I have the feeling we were continuously monitored. We had access to the fridge but she was watching us all the time. Sometimes she gets mad when we use the wrong base. It was horrible and the atmosphere was very bad. I guess she hated the French. She should change jobs because she is really not friendly. Otherwise, the view was beautiful. It's the only positive thing.

    It was great!
