ONE OF THE BEST!!!

5 on March 25, 2015

Hubby and I love B&B's, and since we've been to so many, we've become a little bit of "B&B snobs"! :) Jamul Haven was one of the best we've been to!! The grounds are GORGEOUS and there are so many areas to "hide" and relax. There are only 4 rooms, and they are all done so well and with great detail. There is a pool and 2 jacuzzis!! A chicken coop and fresh eggs in the morning! There is even a game room and disco!! There is so much to do and enjoy there you won't want to go out anywhere! The innkeepers Bill and Marianne are wonderful. Sweet and attentive. Marianne bakes fresh cookies every night and delivers them to the common kitchen with fresh milk. We definitely plan on going back!!

Loved it, loved it!!

Jamul Haven without a doubt was the best B&B we have visited In years. We stopped going to B&B's because I find most of them unwelcoming. We love meeting the owners/Inn keepers. I don't especially enjoy going to a B&B where the only contact you have is with a student from a neighboring university. Most of these people are not knowledgeable about the area and in many cases I know more than they do. Jamul Haven was wonderful. The grounds were very lovely, and most of all the owners Marianne and Bill were fantastic. Marianne fixed the most exquisite breakfasts. Love everything about our stay at Jamul Haven.

Superb Service!

My boyfriend and I had been planning this visit to the San Diego area for about four months and I did a lot of research on where to stay. At the last minute, I made our reservations at Jamul Haven because the hotels located on Coronado Island and the Gas Lamp District were just ridiculous in price. And I have to say that we were more than pleased with my last minute decision on Jamul Haven! We could not have asked for better hosts than Marianne and Bill...they made us feel like one of their family right from the start with Bill waiting up till after Midnight to check us in not to mention meeting us in the rain to show us our room. The next morning we went to the main house for breakfast and let me tell you...this was the absolutely best part of our stay! Marianne and staff cook the best hot breakfast I have had in a while; they offer multiple choices on the menu and even have daily specials which are outstanding. We ate so much at breakfast each morning that we did not need to bother with lunch during our stay. We are planning another trip during the winter holidays and plan on staying at Jamul Haven!

Stunning

I consider my wife and I fortunate to have stumbled across this gem. While the location is just minutes from the heart of San Diego, the placement in a "nook" of a valley shields you from most of the outside world. The hosts have done a stellar job of adding modern amenities to a historic property, and the small number of guests at any given time mean that they can see to whatever you need. We tend not to stay in the same B&B repeatedly (too much of the U.S. to explore), but I can honestly say that Jamul Haven may lure us back in the future.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

My husband and I stayed at Jamul Haven for Valentine's Weekend 2/1315-2/15/15 and we cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful bed and breakfast! It was absolutely charming and we couldn't believe we have never heard about this hidden spot! It's tucked away in the back side of Jamul amongst a trail and nice greenery but it is still very close to local shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Peacock room and it was very vintage and we loved it! The details were stunning. The food every morning was delicious and we loved just relaxing on the property. The owners are so sweet and accommodating and you can tell that they love what they do. We highly recommend booking at Jamul Haven and we plan on making it a tradition in our family.

Wish I was Still There

I cannot recommend this highly enough. I live in downtown San Diego in a very noisy apartment building with a newborn next door. I badly needed to get out of the city and go somewhere relaxing and quiet. I stayed in the Asian Room which was the perfect size for just me (although they sweetly offered to upgrade me to a vacant, larger room). The house is immaculate and the grounds are beautiful. The attention to detail is flawless (the pool area is gorgeous). The private porch off the Asian room is huge and I spent hours reading in the comfy chair out there listening to the birds. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was really luxurious. There was a tv and very good wireless internet which was great. Also, there's a kitchen with full amenities so I could cook. The breakfast they make each morning is fantastic and there's snacks every night left in the kitchen. The best part is there are a ton of things to do but they leave you to do your own thing, if that's what you prefer. I would have loved to explore more and do the amazing hot tub but they could see that I needed to sleep and relax and were happy to let me do my own thing. Marianne is super sweet and Bill is very energetic and interesting and the dog is adorable. Rosalba is also SO sweet and I appreciated that she cleaned my room while I was at breakfast. I wish I was still there, frankly. Also, it's super easy to get to from downtown SD. I had the best two nights of sleep I've had in months.

A true haven!

LOVELY! Perfect getaway for our anniversary weekend, even if only an hour from home! Relaxing, charming, and quiet. We stayed in the smallest room but it was perfect with a fire place and our own private portion of deck to sit on. Bill and Marianne were the greatest of hosts and the breakfasts were wonderful! We were made to feel comfortable and welcome right away! We will definitely be going back and referring to our friends and family!!

Spectacular

Our hosts were simply wonderful, the rooms and buildings are straight from the past, yet with all the modern amenities. The grounds are beautiful and the food is more than you would expect. We will be going back with our family.

Such a great find. Hope to make it back on the West Coast soon just so we can enjoy. My wife and I spent a week in San Diego with the first 2 days here and the rest at the Del. We both agreed that this was the favorite part of our trip. Bill and Marianne take great pleasure in making sure you enjoy your experience. We will be back! Jack and Annie-Richmond, VA

Loved Jamul Haven

I ended up at Jamul Haven almost by accident -- in desperation when a business trip was scheduled during the week of Comicon in San Diego. I was at first dismayed at not being able to stay right downtown -- but Jamul Haven was a delightful discovery. My days were "work" but my evenings were "vacation", relaxing poolside in the cool evening breeze. Now I can't wait to find a time to come back with my wife for a romantic getaway!
