Overall, it was a great experience staying here. The lodging and property itself was lovely. Our only complaint is that the bed covers had a smell and it needs to be laundered.

I found the Aloha Crater Lodge as an anointed lodging. Dan and Shannon own a little piece of heaven on earth. The bathroom was pristine, the bed comfortable, and the kitchenette was stocked with enough food for my dinner, breakfast and lunch. As... read more

We spent just one night here in the middle of two days in Volcanoes Park, and were very glad we chose it. The rain forest location makes Aloha Crater Lodge very different from most BnBs, and after a day in the park we especially enjoyed a soak in... read more

This inn was nice overall. The dining is breakfast food provided for you in the room the night before, however there is a lot of it and it was good. The value of the place was also amazing after spending some time on the sunny side of the island... read more

We were greeted by our hosts upon arrival with 4 generations of family and given our choice of 3 beautiful rooms. Each room was a perfect choice for Great-Grandmother, Grandparents and parents of a 2 year old and a 4 month old. Easy access from the... read more

This is a newer B&B so it's overall in good condition and shows lots of promise. Location and price are very good. A few things you should be aware of: low, large branch over drivel could make it difficult for larger vehicles to enter; breakfast... read more

Innkeeper Response
I am grateful to receive this review. We are a new B&B, just opened in June 2007, and I know there is always room for improvement. I am glad to hear that we have potential and that we already offer a good value. Originally spaceheaters were available upon request but now they are standard in every room. Upon welcoming customers and showing them around, I always say to them "Please let me know if there is anything you need or if I have forgotten something, I will do my best to get it for you." My prayer is that I will always reflect the love of Jesus to every customer that God brings to me. God has reminded me, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for so by doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2

Review Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano, Volcano, HI

Photo Album

Our sign was hand made by Dan. The wood is a rough slab of Monkey Pod and the base was made with red lava rocks from Kazamura Cave.Room 1 has a king sized deep sleep mattress and a twin sized daybed. In your kitchenette there is a minifridge, microwave and coffeemaker. Your room is stocked with various the breakfast delights.
Orchids and bromeliads welcome you into room 1. Enter through french doors into your kitchenette area. This room has convenient parking right outside your room.Room 1 twin daybed. Relax and watch t.v. or take a nap. If you are traveling as a family this bed comes in handy, a futon is also available if needed.
Room 2 offers a queen sized firm mattress and a twin sized daybed. Enter this room by way of a large patio through a sliding door. Enjoy the use of a nice size corner kitchenette.Enjoy the quiet comfort of this twin sized daybed offered in room 2. A great place to relax and watch t.v. or take a nap. I highly recommend this room for families, a futon is available for extra guests.
The kitchenette in room 2 has a large corner counter with prestocked mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave oven. This room has a large patio with beautiful views. The Honeymoon Suite is located upstairs in the main house. A large semi private balcony welcomes you to a sliding door entry. The view is awesome! Enjoy the 312 sq ft this Master Bedroom Suite has to offer. Your breakfast is prestocked in your room, homemade Hawaiian Tea bread, hot and cold cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. Complimentary coffee and tea service, hot chocolate juice and milk are included. Enjoy this room for a honeymoon treat or a special anniversary. Enjoy life together.
The Honeymoon Suite kitchenette area offers a minifridge with a prestocked breakfast, sorry no microwave.Custom made by the owners, this is almost like a secret retreat for couples. A large open bathing area invites you to relax and enjoy, no, indulge!
For guests who need 2 larger beds or if you are just seeking a moderate accommodation, room 3 is for you. Room 3 offers a queen and double sized beds. Located at the rear of the house, parking is available right near your private, covered entrance. You will receive the same tasty breakfast stocked in you room as in all of our rooms but sorry, no microwave. This is our double bed featured in room 3. We offer a moderate, comfortable accommodation for those families on a budget. Enjoy all the ammenities offered at Aloha Crater Lodge, 7 person whirlpool hot
tub, viewing of Kazamura Cave and Lavatube and continental in room breakfast.
The entrance to Kazamura Cave is a lavatube journey that goes down the way about 50 miles to an opening in Paradise Park that reaches the sea. Don't let this photo fool you about the size of the opening, it is at least 8 feet high. Crater viewing is available to our guests at all times and is encouraged from above. Can you imagine getting married from this beautiful and unique spot, unlike any other? The hot tub overlooking the crater fits 6 people. It has three different jet controls as well as bubbles and stereo surround sound with dvd player. It doesn't matter the weather it is the perfect spot anytime.
