General Information

The Bed & Breakfast Residence Santa Chiara is situated in an ancient noble building from the 16th century, right in the historical center of Lucca, inside the medieval town walls. Situated in front of Villa Bottini, the former residence of Elisa Bonaparte, where nowadays numerous cultural and entertainment events take place especially in the summer. Its position makes it easy to reach all of the city's major sights and attractions, such as the Roman amphitheater, the Guinigi tower, the San Michele square and the main street of the town Via Fillungo with all its characteristic antique shops, on foot. The family-run property offers a welcoming ambience and high quality service in a quiet and peaceful location.

    By Train: If you are arriving by train, you can easily reach us on foot in about ten minutes from the railway station, or alternatively you may take a taxi. If you come on foot, when you are outside of the train station, turn right, keeping the town walls on the left. Enter the town of Lucca through Porta Elisa, then turn right into Via Bacchettoni and then take the first left into Via Brunero Paoli. At the end of the street, on the corner with Via S.Chiara, you will see our Residence. By Car: Exit the highway at Lucca; follow the signs to the centre and the railway station (stazione); from here, keeping the town walls on the left, take the road around the walls and after the first bend, turn to the left and enter Lucca through the white town gate called Porta Elisa. Then turn right into Via Bacchettoni and then take the first left into Via Brunero Paoli. At the end of the street, on the corner with Via S.Chiara, you will see our Residence. By Plane: The Residence provides a taxi service from/to airport at special rates.
