General Information

The "Iron Corbel Inn Bed & Breakfast" is a Second Empire, Victorian style house, located in the heart of Historic Hollidaysburg. The original house was built in 1854, but the house you see today was not completed until the 1880s when the third floor was added. The name originates from the cast iron columns on the front porch and the brackets "corbels" which support the mansard style roof and porch(which look like ladies faces).

Marble fireplaces and converted gas chandeliers along with original detail create an elegant formal Parlor and Dinning Room. Floor to ceiling mirrors and stained glass windows make the Great room a magnificent place for a special event. The parlor and front porch provide areas to comfortably sit and read. The house is tastefully decorated with period antiques and artwork, yet still has a warm homelike atmosphere. Each guest room is uniquely decorated and all have private baths. Rooms have a variety of options for sleeping and some can accomodated travelers with children. While most rooms have showers the Gest Suite offers an old clawfoot tub in addition to a shower. Wireless internet, airconditioning, full breakfast are the largest ammenities offered. Additional meals can be provided with advance request, as the owner is a culinary grad.

Historic Hollidaysburg is a quiet residential neighborhood dating back to the 1800s. The sidewalks are lined with large old Victorian houses. The Iron Corbel Inn is both convenient and peaceful for travelers staying in the area. It is close to Altoona and just down the street from the Blair County Courthouse.

  • Deposit amount required (A deposit of one night stay is required to guarantee a room. This is payable by credit card at the time of the reservation or personal check received within 7 days of the arrival date.)
  • Check in time is 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Check out time is 11:00 a.m.
  • Cancellations:
    Cancellations received at least 10 days prior to scheduled arrival date will be refunded minus a $25.00 processing fee. Cancellations received less than 10 days will result in a loss of your deposit. A cancellation received less then 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival will be responsible for the entire balance of the booked stay if the room cannot be rented. Early departures are charged for the entire booked stay.
